Saw 2 interesting articles of late.
One suggesting Ralph Rangnick as a candidate to be our Technical Director, and his comments re the style of football as being similar to that Emery was describing when he joined us. The main point being that we don't need KSE to bankroll us, we just need to be smart and to have a game plan to maximise our resources both on and off the pitch.
The second article from a different site made the suggestion that our taking the moral high ground has gotten us no where, and that we should consider a different option. Specifically the issue facing us is in regards to being unable to spend our revenues because of our wages in relation to FFP. The article pointed out that Galatasaray won their appeal to CAS against UEFA's sanctions imposed for their breaching FFP, and that in terms of the sanctions imposed after the appeal that we as a club often operate within those same constraints by our own actions. As such the suggestion is that we simply spend what we can and as we need to do in order to regain CL, because the potential pay-off in terms of CL revenues is about 4x that of the potential sanctions imposed. This is not to say that we shouldn't sell in order to raise additional revenues (Guendouzi, Torreira etc), but that if we do we do so with a genuine strategy.
Further to this was have seen the likes of MC & PSG run foul of FFP on more than 1 occasion and escape without serious consequence, let alone the farce that has CFC reported as being debt free whilst their parent / umbrella company owes Abramovich over 1bn in loans.
IMO if we were to sell our high earners to reduce the wages and our top prospects, then we should do so with a very clear agenda and statement of intent so as to regain top4/CL.
