Which is incredibly rare.(only pocchetinho in the last how many years) Especially in a league with the most competition at the top. At the very least that should lower your expectations of the club rather than the desperate calls for sacking managers?
There's only around 5 managers around who work with a materially bigger budget than we do. There's plenty who work on a restricted budget and do it well. Also doesn't your argument suggest we should have just stuck with Wenger? The whole point of moving on, even when he was getting us top four every season, was to try and find someone who can push us further with what we have.
Like who? Who does it in the top tiers in the top leagues consistently. I've already mentioned Simeone as the exception that proves the rule and his football is quite hurtful. Ranieri? Couldn't even last at Chelsea and was sacked at leicester-one trophy and looks like they feel they should be winning regularly with how they're unhappy with successive managers. And looks like we are behaving like those small time clubs too.
About wenger- my issue mainly with him was the football was very stubborn and had gotten stale plus some other issues like that which were non table position related (All the ozil gang would've seen aubameyang to be much less effective under wenger with us dicking around the box and no space for auba to run behind.)
Personally, I had long reconciled with the fact that we are not a big club to expect top 4 each year-at least until evidence to the contrary in the transfer market. The world doesn't end as long as we are 4-6.
Now yes, I did expect some good things based on all the new hires in the backroom staff but again with how sven;s situation turned out, the abomination of the winter window and all our injuries- I mean, that's a little bit similar to losing your main players-didn't klopp take dortmund down close to relegation after losing some of his players?
Once again, to reiterate, this isn't an opposite point in defence of emery.
What I find funny is that these points should be being made by the rest of the forum who keep in touch with all the nitty gritty news everywhere while I only watch more for football and don't interest myself much with all that.
