AS Monaco likely to conclude the signing of Cesc Fabregas next week from Chelsea, according to L’Équipe.

Pulisic to chelsea done. He'll stay on loan with bvb until seasons end

Chelsea do like doing these weird transfers, he's a good player but not sure if he is £58m. Hasn't he lost his place to Sancho in the team? Surely would make more sense to try and sign him for that kind of money.

Suspect they are ok with the 6 month loan since Hazard will leave in the summer and he is the designated replacement.

Well they have their winger deal done for next summer. I am guessing Hazard is gone in the summer for big money and they will look to a striker then. Icardi maybe.

Hopefully this now means we can go get Lozano. Also need another winger as well - Malcom / Brandt / Guedes / Bailey / Pepe. Should be able to get that done for 80-85M of gross spend and 40M of net spend (Ozil, Mkhi out). Add to that 3 CBs and an LB for 100M with Mustafi, Chambers leaving for 40M will make it 100M of net spend for the summer. Will still leave us short a backup RB, but will allow us to then focus on 1 WC player in subsequent windows rather than being in firefighting mode all the time.

I think they've overpaid quite heavily here. Pulisic never impressed me very much but he's still only 20 so he has time to improve and I wonder if there's a commercial element to the deal with him being an American.

Yeah, Lozano would be a good buy, might take time to get used to the physicality of the league, but would be good long term.

Supposedly Pool are getting Fekir, another player they failed to get but made sure in the end.

Not fussed about Pulisic, pretty average for me.

Pulisic is a good player, but he also needs to operate in a specific kind of team/system to get the best out of him. Im not sure Chelsea is the right place to get that. Granted, he is only 20 and already has loads of bigger game experience.

€64 million for Pulisic. Bloody hell. Have to think that marketing opportunities in the US are partly behind this signing.

I agree with that to an extent. He is good, and has the potential to be really good, but yes, part of that is US marketing opportunity.

i mean, he's built up as the next big American hope, but we've seen that so many time (anyone remember Freddy Adu?) that said, he's miles better than Adu ever was

60m is absurd. He's talented but never worth that much

There's no way Dortmund would sell Sancho for 64m euros. He's worth Dembele money to them now.

As for Pulisic, yeah NBC will be going crazy over here with him going to Chelsea. Might do something ridiculous like a camera following him 😆 .  I think Sarri will elevate his game like he's done with previous attackers at Napoli.

Liverpool selling their young winger Camacho to Sporting Lisbon for 15m euros. How do they keep getting such high fees for nonsensical players?

Wonder how much chelsea are gonna get for hazard. They been making good dough since oscar and Luiz and all.

Bayern has been relentless trying to sign him.

he looked mustard in pre-season. could be a good buy for them

Almost like Chelsea's first team and youth team are two different entities. Not many seem to make the crossover, very weird.

LFC pulled the plug on Fekir last time because of concerns re his knee/s.

Most thought he was going to CFC.

Some notable Bosman list players-

Yacine Brahimi
Mousa Dembele
Gary Cahill
Olivier Giroud
Brahim Diaz
Ander Herrera
Hector Herrera
Vincent Kompany
Filpe Luis
David Luiz
Juan Mata
James Milner
Alberto Moreno
Arjen Robben
Daniel Sturridge

Wasn't Brahimi very highly rated a few years ago? How has he ended up on the Bosman list - career stalled or wage demands?

I'm afraid Emery will go for Alberto Moreno

Oh god, we're going to sign David Luiz aren't we?

Diego Godin is another Bosman next summer and easily better than anyone on that list. Would throw a couple million Atleticos way and see if they bite

If only Luiz wasn't such a clown, or a poor man's Mattéo.

He's such a good footballer for a defender though, maybe he'd do some kind of a job for us?

:hides:

As if we didn't have enough clowns at the back as it is.

In a way, I'd like to see a Mustafi-Luiz CB pairing just for sheer comedic value.

I'm almost certain he'll go to Juve unfortunately. Ideal Barzagli replacement next year, and they do love a free lunch like no other club I've seen.

Juve are paying a metric shit tonne of money to Ronaldo though, and Godins disagreement Atletico is over wages. If the club decided to pony up I think we could tempt him

Hector Herrera and Brahim Diaz will be very useful additions.

Not sure about Moreno unless we are hell bent on playing 3 at the back. Robben might be worth a gamble for a 1 year contract

If we buy Robben I'll stop supporting Arsenal. Fuck that there's a limit to everything

We should be in for him.

A centre forward is the least of our priorities.

Maybe it's not our first priority, but we could use another forward. Auba is 30 this year and Lacazette is 28. If we don't sign someone youngish this summer we'll be forced to do it the next one. Werner strikes me as good target because he can play across the frontline.

Lacazette is 27.

He'll be 30 in 2 1/2 years.

Godin could have a van Dijk-like effect on our defense. Goes about his business more quietly and doesn't play in the PL or for Barcelona/Real Madrid so there's not as much hype around him, but he's just as good unless he's become much worse this season.

Hes a lot nearer 28 than he is 27. That's a fact.

Thank you for that random factoid. As I said, Auba will be 30 this year and Laca will be 28.
