really? the Celtics didn't just assemble a talented young core? snap up 2 (previously) All Star free agents, have the ability to gamble on Kyrie? There is little debate the strategic operations at the ball club have been nothing short of excellent and with the key ingredient of being versatile of pulling in each direction (should an asset fail to land).
Unless we want every team to tank for years like Philly.
Lets see what happens.
im a sixers fan. i am happy with the sixers decision to tank and where it has gotten us, even with poor injury luck and a few missed picks.
the celtics havent won since 2008, despite making the most lopsided trade in recent nba history that gifted them massive assets. it might all still work out. but im 95% sure irving is gone. brown looks like their best young player, tatum seems to have stagnated or even regressed, and they've wasted a bunch of first round picks in the last 3 years. they still have lots of assets, but horford is about to enter his decline phase, and he might leave as well if they dont offer him the max. they might have brown, tatum and lots of picks, or AD + 1 one of those guys and very few picks.
either way, im happy. fuck the celtics.
