True. There had been hundreds of rumours about Weinstein for decades though. There's also the fact that MeToo has already happened. And let's not forget Robinho was actually found guilty of gang rape last year and sentenced to 9 years in his absence. I think that hammer stayed in the news cycle for a full 24 hours, which should have been a clue about how the football world treats these matters. If something emerges from the Ronaldo case it's probably gonna be an offshoot movement that focuses specifically on how women are being treated in, and by, football and other sporting competitions. I can't wait for all the shady stuff being brought to light personally. Fuck this sport.
