I don't quite know what Quincey is getting at, but what goes down in any league should be discussed as part of football as a whole, and indeed society. It's not irrelevant because racism isn't Italy's problem in any unique way. I'm wary about any attempts to address the issue as country or league specific.
Badically, I don't believe their national circumstances are really that unique, and I do think that kind of talk easily devolves into historical rationalizations and cultural excuse making for what is inexcusable and just plain stupid.
