Why does Europe's prime competition not have its own proper thread?

First upset is Frankfurt winning at last season's finalists Marseille 2-1 while being a man down for most of the second half. Real shame UEFA allowed no spectators in the Velodrome, 20k Frankfurt fans plus the French support would've made for a far more intense show than anything in the CL.

2nd upset is this smart guy from Zurich.

Another Morata special today. Abysmal striker.

Who gives a fuck about that. Frankfurt two games at Marseille and vs Lazio six fucking points

He's a broken man.

Spartak coming back from 2-1 v. Villareal to go ahead 3-2 in like 8 mins at the end of the second half...

so many were in favor of signing him...  boy did we seem to dodge a bullet there

SANTI! extra time penalty to tie it up.. good lad!

Even Sarri admitted he can't give confidence to Morata to change him. It's that bad

Were playing Benfica. Not the worst draw better than Russia in February, also they look piss poor these days

Frankfurt play Shakhtar. That's what you get for finishing with 18 points in a group with Lazio and Marseille

Shit I actually turned it off after the penultimate the thinking Benfica were the only team we were eligible to play against ๐Ÿ˜†

Anyway hope we're taking this as serious as we need to. Plenty of teams in there who could beat us and this horseshit attitude of the competition being beneath us needs to end.

I sort of agree, but then there goes UEFA moving our second leg home game to a Wednesday at 5pm so it doesnโ€™t clash with CL/Chelsea games. Will be played in a virtually empty stadium. Hard to get enthusiastic when UEFA themselves treat the competition like an inconvenience.

Anyway, will definitely get interesting in the next round should we get through.

You sure that's the reason the game was moved? There are always two time slots for EL games and the earlier matches start at 5pm

Yeah. The away game is an early start too though at the usual, slightly more reasonable slot of 17:55 (GMT). The home games have normally always kicked off at 20:00.

They always kicked off at 8pm for us, not for everyone that's my point. It also depends on where you play the away game

Chelsea do that to almost every striker they sign. He probably would have been great here.

20k+ Frankfurt fans in Milan today, 15k or so in the San Siro. Kudos to Inter for dramatically increasing the away ticket contingent compared to some other clubs.

Ive been there before but this will be my first time watching a game there, atmosphere will be absolutely nuts.
