That's the most ridiculous thing I have heard in international football

I think they're already on a warning because the womens team pulled out of a game so they can't withdraw from the games otherwise they'll be suspended from international competition for 4 years or something.

The worst part is probably the advantage Wales will get in Nations League. They'll play this bunch of semi-pros while the other teams will face the real Denmark later on.

I will watch this game. These guys are going to make Wales look stupid for the first few minutes.

This is great. Finally worth paying attention to football during int. break.

Slovakia, mighty annoyed that Denmark went through with the game anyway, have set the ticket price at £1 tonight. 😆

Thoughts on this, Segway?

It's a farcical, chaotic and embarrassing situation. Slovakia obviously have every right to be pissed off. If it was in the normal labour market it would have been completely normal but this is something else. Futsal and amateur players (not even semi-pro) will represent Denmark against Hamsik and co and probably Ramsey's Wales and it's hard to grasp how it came this far.

The public don't know in detail the reasons behind the breakdown so it's hard to know who to point the finger at, the players or the Danish FA.  As Goon points out there was a similar situation with the women's team and we got off lightly with UEFA despite having to cancel a match. The Danish FA does not want to risk Denmark being disqualified from the Euro 2020 so they came up with this "solution".

Cheers. It does seem hard to know for sure where to put the blame. In the context of this game I think the players offered to extend the old deal for one more game to save some face though, right? Not sure if it would have made any actual difference since they wouldn't have played against Wales anyway though.

I'm watching the game right now and the players look surprisingly good so far. They let in a goal that was more or less impossible to defend for a futsal player, it was all about defensive organisation, but they look tidy on the ball otherwise and not a single one seems overawed by the occasion.

Just wasted a golden opportunity as well. Seem decent.

These guys are great.

What a save by that keeper bloke.

Another worldly save. Jesus christ.

This Danish keeper has worked his big ole bum off today. He will go home proud

They all can. They've done really well all things considered. They could probably have done some real damage if they had been given a week or two of training together. Will definitely be watching the game against Wales just to see what happens.

How many futsal players ended up on the pitch against Slovakia?

I don't know exactly, but the entire XI consisted of futsal players and players from Danish second division I believe. The goalkeeper was actually the goalkeeper of the national futsal team, which is very impressive considering how small goals they play with.

He looked a little plump like Paddy Kenny, but was like a flying monkey in those goals. They should tell those seniors to sod off

Would be fun if Daniel Wass played, since he wasn't called up for the world cup.
