I thinking this the other day too. Can't remember which game but it was obvious we needed the full backs for our chance creation. We should definitely be in the market for a left and right fullback in the next two windows.

Yep. Bellerin has been a weapon this season but we could certainly upgrade on him too - especially as his diminishing pace at the age of 23 is one of life's true mysteries.

Left back is an obvious one and needs serious prioritising.

At the very least it would be a huge waste of money when you consider the players we need and our limited resources.

Particularly since Hector himself still has the potential to improve - he's already better than he was at the end of last season (particularly in attack), with more composure and direction he can get better.

Bellerin created a perfect chance for Aubameyang in the last game too. And he usually creates at least one every single game this season.
He's not the best on the ball, but he's got a lot of other things going for him in attack. And for me he's a good defender.

It's left back where we have to spend the money. I'd spend it on Ferland Mendy at Lyon. Watched him take apart Hoffenheim in the Champions League last week. He was easily the best player on the pitch. I really like his game.

That's got be our focus in January: identifying top players that don't play for top clubs. And then pray we get back in the Champions League so that we can count ourselves amongst the top clubs when the summer rolls around.

I had hope for Kolasinac but I've come to the conclusion that he's just incredibly dim as a footballer, at least from a defensive standpoint. Unfortunately his stock is too low and wages too high to ditch so hopefully Emery can at least turn him into a useful backup.

He might be, but even though he's been here for over a year I don't feel like he's had enough time. If he's not shown that he is good enough by the end of the season I'll agree with you.

He's in shit form and has played like three games after being out for several months. I think there's a lot to work with physically as he's a unit and we really don't have too many of those in our team, just needs to find some form first. His positioning needs to be worked on but that comes after the rust goes, his physique can bail him out there and he's an asset in attack, five goals and four assists in his first season at the club and that's with us at our worst in 25 years.

I wouldn't mind replacing him with someone more reliable as I'm worried about the injuries but assessing him at a time like this when he's just coming back into a team that as a whole is in a bit of a slump really doesn't seem smart to me. See if he can be relied on, if not there are plenty of talented left backs around at the moment to look at next summer.

I think Kolas been ok apart from that fuck up. Like Jones said he needs a bit of time to train with the new system, get fully fit, etc Realistically he isn't going anywhere so hopefully he can stay fit and he may see some improvement.

I'd replace Monreal in the summer, get someone who should be first choice in, give Kola a fight for his place. Maybe someone more defensive so you could rotate with Kola depending on opposition.
