I liked Gabriel, but if he's as good as people here seem to think he is then he'll be at a bigger club in no time.

The bloke didn't learn a word of english while he was here and is as thick as shit. Physically he had everything you'd want in a CB (being a few inches taller wouldn't have hurt) but the guy made mistake after mistake. He had plenty of chances and fucked them all.

Being better than that clown Mustafi isn't a reason to pine over someone. We may as well bring Djourou back if that's all it takes, he loves the club so much he'd probably play for free.

Pretty much. Gabriel was nowhere near Mustafi, and I say that as someone who generally can't bloody stand Mustafi. There's just a mile-wide gulf in class between them. Gabriel is one of the worst players I've ever seen in an Arsenal shirt. It's probably fair to say that this game didn't reflect his normal quality any more than it did Guedes's.

And if not for Arsene Wenger's Shkodran Mustafi and Arsene Wenger's Granit Xhaka we would probably be in the Champions League instead of the Europa League.

De Ligt is never coming here but easily worth more than 75m, best Dutch defender ever at 19 already. Think he said he wants to play with Messi and he's probably good enough to start there already

Ajax have some absurdly talented youngsters around. De Ligt is the biggest one but de Jong not far behind. Ziyech too who's ridiculously good, this match compilation of their CL qualifier has more good passes than other players have in their career highlights

Hard to argue he's even currently the best Dutch CB when Virgil van Djik is in this form.
