We’d have conceded our customary 5 by now
Champions League 2018/2019
Kimmich is a proper RB.
James Milner is in good nick for a 54 year old
Lol at the thought of current us in these games.
Each time I watch one of these Champions League games, I find the task ahead of us daunting. We don't have the athleticism, quality, intelligence or composure to lean on to win these games.
We could only dream of that defensive performance away from home in a CL knock out game that Bayern just pulled off.
arsedoc md wrote:Only tuned in for the second half. Pool attacking a lot, running at bayern non stop but with no creativity in the final third. Not too hard to defend for bayern till now, that right?
Liverpool has three solid chances (at least) in the first half. Could have been 1-0 easily.

Lets just focus on getting back in so we can get hammered in the first knock out again first.
I long for those days!

We were laughing at them signing Shaqiri when in fact he probably would be a starter here.
Long gone are the days we used to cherry pick who from there will get into our team, most of their bench would get into ours.
Moreno, Lallana, Sturridge, Mignolet and Origi would get into our starting eleven? Really?
Milner/Henderson and Shaqiri would have a small chance I guess, but that's only because our bench contains much better players than them. Neither of them are a patch on Ramsey and Özil.
Easier to look good in a functioning team than in our shambles. Shaqiri is a nothing player

Milner could cover at fullback. Don't think any of them make the first XI. Maybe Lovern could make our first XI but you could debate whether he's first XI for them anyway.
Now their first XI is a lot stronger than ours obviously but there is no need for exaggeration.

That as well, but I think of Iwobi and Mkhi's input this season its just so depressing.

This is normally how they lineup so I assume the rest are their subs.
Alisson, TAA, VVD, Gomez, Robertson, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Fabinho, Mane, Salah, Firmino
Subs: Mignolet, Lovren, Keita, Milner, Lallana, Matip, Shaqiri.
Shithousing from the first minute in the atleti-juve
City with the softest possible goal against Schalke. Schalke just stopped playing when they thought there had been a foul. Poor concentration. Silva stayed aware and wily.
I don't think that's a penalty to Schalke.
What happened? Had switched to Atletico - where a near-penalty was avoided by VAR. In the absence of VAR, most referees would’ve incorrectly awarded the penalty to Atletico
LOL. 2nd penalty Schalke

You'll probably see it during half time. The defender tried to get his hand behind his back, but the ball hit him right before it was behind.
VAR just seems like a new way for referees to continue making shit decisions.
I'm watching on two televisions so I've watched two studios as well. In both there are at least one who thinks it's a penalty and one who disagrees, so I guess it's up for discussion.
Schalke need to make this man advantage count. 3-1 would be a real hole.
Sane's freekicks are incredible from range
Lol at Juventus. They’ve missed the CL boat I reckon.
Schalke has blown it against 10 man. Incredible
Wow. City. The English top 3 are legit.
He's scummy (teste-grabbing on TV?) but my word would I take him as our manager.

Should never have hired Allegri.
some barca fan made this suarez vs lyon compilation, called it a disasterclass.
our stirkers play like that all the time. oh to have high standards.

It's a good time to be good in europe. Barca are not in their best, Madrid and Bayern totally inconsistent, only PSG is the real threat for English teams this season. Far cry from the days where we are in UCL and the top 4 is way ahead of the rest.
The english clubs level are really high but I get so so bored watching City score for fun. They are like robots, every move is the same. There is just no joy in such football that is too good.

Pretty normal by our standards, could have been seen as a good hard working performance by some.
The Lukaku compilation is far funnier.

after these past 6 or so years it's easy to forget that not controlling a ball, wayward passing and poor dribbling are frowned upon in some quarters.
Suarez hasn't scored away from home in the CL since 2015
Claudius wrote:Wow. City. The English top 3 are legit.
Today was a lot more about Schalke bottling it than about anything City did. Schalke are barely above the relegation zone in the league yet a spectacular collapse was the reason they didn't go into the second leg with a win
Mirth wrote:Suarez hasn't scored away from home in the CL since 2015
And Benzema is 4th on the all time top scorer list behind only Cristiano, Messi and Raul, despite his severely underwhelming performances in many seasons which should have been his prime. Not disagreeing with you that Suarez has disappointed in Europe since the treble season, just saying that competition specific stats can sometimes distort the overall level a player has been at
Imo Otamendi shouldn't have had the first yellow card and then City would've won much more easily.
Man I wish Simeone was our manager.

These fans want pretty football. I've watched a lot of Atletico. I cannot remember a single pretty game under this manager. If he doesn't get titles versus the billion pound behemoth that is City, you'll hear moans.
Winning 5-4. Winning 1-0. As long as you're not winning the title, you're in trouble here, and that's about money most of the time.
