Same sport but not the same competition - Arsenal can't win the World Cup.
If you can't divorce international loyalties from club loyalties then I guess you're only watching the World Cup from an academic/intellectual perspective, which for my money isn't the most fun way to enjoy sports.
Out of interest, do you dislike the German team because they're are so many Bayern players in most squads?
Yes that's one of the biggest reasons I have no love for any German team I've seen. The idea that I should cheer on the same smug self righteous bellends completely devoid of any humility just because they're wearing a different shirt is ridiculous to me. Also I despise the rampant ugly nationalism that flares up everywhere whenever there's international footy on but I guess that's just me. There's some comfort in knowing it'll never happen as I'd probably have to rethink my loyalties if the Sun or its German equivalents started "cheering" on my team as obnoxious as they do.
Regarding your first paragraph about watching the WC for "academic reasons" I think you have it the wrong way. I've been into football since literally I can think, my love for the sport long predates me supporting Arsenal or my hometown club and while I don't have the time I used to have I still occasionally try to watch local and regional leagues every now and then. I don't need to divorce any loyalties or to have any in the first place to enjoy a football match.
You quite passionately support Morocco though jones. To the point of genuinely getting pissed off at refs and saying fuck football in the heat of the moment after they were beaten. Maybe it just depends on how you identify yourself.
It really doesn't matter however. Support England or any other country or not. I don't get why anyone should give a fuck. Do whatever the hell makes you happy and if people want to hate that's their problem.
