Honestly I love this world Cup. Every other day there's a new game of the tournament contender.
Last 16: Belgium vs Japan, Monday 2nd July
Yeah, I think it's been brilliant so far!
Agreed, I think it's been fantastic. Far far better than 2010, and I think better than 2014....just needs one or two memorable semis/finals to be complete.
Missed the match but saw the highlights. This is truly the World Cup of mad bantz.
Did say before, Belgium's defence is dodge and you gotta attack them and not retreat into a shell.
It was clear after Puff Ball scored that Belgium were going to win. If not in regulation, in extra time. Japan looked utterly spent after that second goal (even if they had a couple decent chances in the dying minutes). But to allow such a break at that stage (last touches of regulation time) is criminally naive tactically.
Probably one of the most entertaining halves of football in the WC though. 4 mins between Japans goals.. 5 mins between Belgiums goals.. and then a literal last second fast break goal (and a GREAT fast break goal). Felt massively sorry for Japan to lose it that way, but they gave it their all (and to be fair, so did Belgium).
Also - is it me, or was Kompany quite a bit shit? De Bruyne was not great either, but he got the last minute break correct. (and Hazard, as much as nothing was really coming off for him, did work his ass off regardless)
Kompany usually is.

It's tradition.
It’s brilliant. I read their fans helped tidy the Stadium after the Columbia game too.
Not normal, surely.
Have they not got cleaner jobs in Japan?

Actually it's entirely normal.
Children in Japan are expected to tidy up the school at the end of the day, people tend to clean up after themselves (or indeed other people) at restaurants and public spaces. There's very little litter in Japan.

After Monday's defeat, which came after they fended Belgium off and led by a point for some time, the Japanese team bowed to their own fans in gratitude.

So did the Senegal fans.
Turns out Europe doesn't provider the most civilized fans in the world. How strange.
