Meh, their bravery nearly won them the game, can’t crticise when it goes against them. And they had a corner so why not go for it, I doubt they’d have had much of a chance in extra time anyway.

That's true. It's been a typical Japanese mentality to go for it as always.

I think they would have had a massive chance in ET, they played some really good play to almost score in the last 4 minutes too. Courtois was superb.

Belgium were a bit lucky, in the end I think their fitness told. Japan were dead after 70 minutes. De Bruyne was terrible. Hazard not much better.

And Vertonghen got so lucky for the goal it's almost ridiculous.

Think Brazil will win on Friday without much trouble.

Yeah not sure what game Ricky is watching tbh. I got the game on in the background and the German pundits for the last ten minutes haven't discussed anything but the dodgy 5-2-3 & 3-2-5 Belgium have been playing complete with red lines over the backline and everything.

Vertonghen--Kompany--Alderweireld--Meunier

Every single time they didn't have the ball they were in a 4.

Hmmm...

Seems to be a counter to me, isn't what I saw in the rest of the match.

It looked to me that it was 4 with Meunier with more license to attack; so slightly asymmetric maybe. With De Bruyne and Witsel holding. Hazard at 10, flanked by Mertens and Carrasco. But I could be wrong. No big deal.
