Using the term 'supporting' loosely, as it's obvious most of us (Dula excepted) don't really care too much.

When Ireland aren't at a WC, I'd typically have been rooting for England. In more recent years, the Dutch, before van Persie fucked us over. Lately Germany, but they were turgid this WC.

Based purely on their game against Poland, I might be on the Colombia train this year. Choo choo.

Also maybe England, not entirely sure how I feel about them yet though. One on the one hand, Kane/Alli etc. On the other, I like Southgate and their setup is fairly wild, which is refreshing in a tournament of defensive, ultra-controlled teams.

Now the Aussies are out it'll have to be England (though they are so spursy).

Denmark.

I've enjoyed watching Colombia, Switzerland and Senegal so I hope one of them can go far.

Have loved watching Colombia. Hoping Uruguay can also go deep and Torreira plays (and then signs for us, of course!).

France, the front 3 of Mbappe Dembele and Griezmann is the most exciting on paper.

Generally any team with Arsenal players. After that, England.

England I guess? Though I've felt largely like a neutral watching the games.

France.

I have no idea why anymore.

Why?

I like the whole spectacle of England. They play with intensity and energy, and their fans get behind them. But, it's not a big deal. I don't really care if they go out in the next round. I also hope Belgium and Denmark do well.

England. Although I hope all our players do as well as can be.

France when Henry was there, Holland when we had RvP, now I just want to see good football.

I don't really like many teams in it this year. I'd probably like to see Brazil, France or Croatia win it.

I just want Arsenal players to do well.

And on that basis, I will always have a soft spot for France given that half their team were Arsenal players for most of the major tournaments I've watched. I think they've been pretty terrible so far and don't fancy them to get much better either.

I've enjoyed watching Spain the most in the two games I've seen them in. Isco has been sensational; a joy to watch. It's a shame they have no balance in midfield whatever. Argentina were fun the other night and I kind of want them to do well now because everyone got at them, and particularly Messi, so much. Banega's performance was one of the best midfield displays I've seen in a while too.

All in all, I think I'd like the winner to be one of those three, Croatia wouldn't be bad either. But not really bothered who it is as long as it's not England.

Mexico, would make some buds happy and they're playing good stuff.
England, more from habit than anything else, as the current squad is full of bums
Modric, errr, Croatia

Mexico or Japan.

Basically any underdogs that play decent football.

Mexico isnt going anywhere..

1994 - Rd of 16 loss to Bulgaria
1998 - Rd of 16 loss to Germany
2002 - Rd of 16 loss to USA
2006 - Rd of 16 loss to Argentina
2010 - Rd of 16 loss to Argentina
2014 - Rd of 16 loss to Netherlands

2018 - will be Rd of 16 loss to Brazil

Well now that just makes me want to support them doesn’t it?

Viva Mexico! It’s time!
