I'd take a punt on him. We have room in the squad and basically nothing to lose. We have to gamble a bit if we want to move forward.
You need to let this little love affair die Klaus. This Justin Bieber lookalike is the same dickhead who was joking with his team mates (before the whole Judas transfer to Bayern) that being linked to Arsenal alone was a sign that your career was going down the drain. Now 26 hitting his prime he's being linked to Everton and West Ham 😆
😆
If I can endure looking at Jenkinson for five years I'm sure I can find a way to stomach Götze.
Odds are that he is finished as a top player, but like with Wilshere there's enough potential upside for me to take a punt. It all depends on what kind of fee and wages we're talking about of course, but I don't think that needs to be spelled out.
We have something like 18 or 19 first teamers right now, and I expect us to sell some of them as their replacements arrive. The smart thing to do is to gamble on one or two struggling players with massive potential and see if they come good. Offer them shorter, incentive-based contracts with reduced base wages, see what happens. It's a small cost with a big potential upside. We're not going to make any more Aubameyang signings anytime soon, but we could still end up with one or two players of that class.
