At least he's going to be home early enough to start the season. Obviously everyone is to blame for Germanys failure and mainly Low but lets be honest, Ozil is in shit form for quite a while now. Hopefully Emery can give him a new lease of life.

In hindsight, i think they should’ve changed the manager. Nothing wrong with Low, but might have been helpful to give all that talent a new lease of life. He held on to certain guys and ideas too long. Didn’t amp up the pressure in the squad

Not enough goal-scorers in the Germany squad to overcome the pressure they were under. Only Werner has been prolific and he was horrible. Muller probably wasn't in the team on merit, Reus has hardly played, Ozil doesn't score and Gomez is a journeyman now.

Germany was piss poor this world cup. Poor movement off the ball, and slow and too safe passing. They lacked pace and movement off the ball. Sane should have been in the squad, and there was no need for Draxler there, when they already had Reus, Brandt, and Ozil.

Some of the stats used in football nowdays are worthless on their own and out of context. Football and players influence and performance can't be condensed into singular stats because it's easy to misrepresent.

Like the pass accuracy one, really high % appears great but actually what position are they playing, what type of passes back, negative, easy passes or the ones that try to go forward and inevitably mean lower stats. Chances created doesn't convey the type of chance, moment in the game how much the person who passed actually was involved.

sorry, but i watched the game, and Ozil actually played better than most of the public are giving him credit for. He ran everywhere, he created a ton of things, and he created the one absolutely PERFECT chance for Hummels that he 100% bottled. If hummels scores that (and he should have), Germany goes through, as it was still 0-0

This loss isn't on Ozil. Look no further than Muller, Khedira and well, anyone else. Goretzka wasnt good, Reus wasnt good, etc, etc, etc

That may be true but when you consistently top the chances created stats then it lessens the significance of context. There's a reason why the other players to top those sorts of stats are the likes of De Bruyne, Silva, Eriksen etc and not Chris Brunt.

Chances created is just how many times did you pass to someone who took a shot. Its a pretty poor stat.

There was the layoff to Kroos too that should have been another dead certain goal, and he played Werner through.

Any half-assed striker from any upper league in Europe would have scored from either of those chances. Maybe Germany need to sit down and ask themselves why they haven't produced one since Miroslav Klose.
