Well he'll be more use than Debuchy you've got to hope.

More Arsenal players at the World Cup!

No issues with this signing. It's short term and he's a good player who's coming off a good season with Juve. He's two full tiers above Debuchy.

Signing Lichtsteiner means we don't have to fuck around with Maitland-Niles too. We can play him in his natural midfield role this season, see if he sinks or swims.

Tbh I'm more hopeful of the change in attitude that he brings in behind the scenes.

How many years has he signed on for?

One year deal with the option of one more.

Hoping that this lights a fire under Bellerin's ass. At the least, he'll get some rotation next year, which would have done him some good this season.

Yeah, I don't imagine Lichtsteiner will ever hang up his boots because of fitness-related issues. There's a whole bunch of players who claim that he's the most competitive teammate they've had. He'll sort out Bellerin in the dressing room.

Gosh that jersey is creepy ugly

Might he pin him down with one hand squashing his face into the floor whilst the other buzz cuts his Barnet?

Emery mentioned his leadership and impact off the pitch too in his welcome statement so it looks like that's a big motivator for bringing him in.

Can certainly still shift.

I'm counting on it.

Hmm. Well at least he's free and is likely to set a minimum standard.
