At Sevilla he wasn't really tasked with buying/identifying talent. That was all Monchi.

I'm not particularly concerned about that for now as we have Mislintat in that role.

Emery seems pretty passionate in one of his last public appearances for PSG

I'm not really down on the appointment, just not very up about it.
It all seems quite sensible, pragmatic, which is good but not exactly inspiring.
I'm sure that once the footy is back on, and I get to see first hand what Emery's made of, I'll react differently.

Totally. It's less of a critique of Aaron than a statement about his motivations: he's very ego-driven I think, more than by money, family, leisure or a love of football. All just reading between the lines though.

I tend to agree with you Burnsy but the one thing that stops me thinking that is that he’s an incredibly simple wooden bloke

I don't think it's particularly sensible and pragmatic. Interesting to pick a coach with no PL history for instance. Emery also doesn't seem to be loved enough to stick around if he's not hitting his targets, so I think we can expect intensity and a bit of pressure immediately and over the next couple of seasons.

He's the loud passionate animated on the touchline type manager. Always yelling and shouting instructions at his players. Wonder how our poor snowflakes will handle all that; they won't know what hit them.

Juan Carlos Carcedo, his no 2 throughout his career.

According to The Telegraph, his assistant Carcedo is joining too. He's supposedly a hot-head who ruffled feathers at PSG. Some of their players accused him of "lacking warmth" 😆
