Juve must have to sell big to do a deal like this. When they bought higgy it was funded by pogba
Cheeky bid for Dybala?
There are some houseboat whisperings of a dybala madness
Wouldn't mind doug costa or caudrado either
Mahrez to city done

Don't understand why we didn't go for Costa when he left Bayern on a cheap.
Dybala would be brilliant here but we would have to sell Ozil to accommodate him IMO. Juventus won't be able to afford Ronaldo wages without offloading a star name.
Dybala would be utter houseboat
We need a wide forward/winger
Garaunteed Dembele would be Emery’s choice of madness
Hope they take kane and salah. That's us into the top 4 without breaking sweat.
The merry-go-round will be interesting. Hopefully we pick up the scraps. Will be in line with our policy in recent years.
I like how Ronaldo is leaving Real Madrid. Minimal fuss, minimal drama.
And I like that he’s leaving at a time he still has a bit in the tank and can still stay competitive.
Even if it’s in that gutter league
He is in amazing shape considering he's 33. But horrible business by Juve, if you ask me.
Mahrez to City is crazy. How many AMs do they need?
Minimal fuss? He announced a LeBron style decision the night his team won the CL
He almost always does that I think.
This came out of nowhere and seems to be all nicely packaged and ready to go. No endless haggling over prices
This is relatively little drama for a player of his status in today’s media
Probably a sign that this deal suits all parties.
Ronaldo clearly has had a falling out with Perez, so suits the two of them. Can't for the life of me fathom how it suits Juve - 30M a year with 30M on top as tax? That's an insane expense to commit to for 4 years on a 33 yr old. Don't think even winning a CL would compensate them for that kind of expense (not just monetarily, but even in terms of a broader value trade-off).
The Guardian are saying that the total value of the transfer is €340m - the salary of 30 million a year is /after/ tax. That puts the cost of the transfer at €85 million a year. That's nuts.
why? wonder what is the full story. why this kind of transfer?
Salaries in Italy are always given after tax, 55-60m pre-tax is not news. Apparently Fiat and some other Agnelli businesses are also sponsoring the deal partially and even if they weren't Juventus are swimming in cash, only problem they're facing is their other star players like Dybala Pjanic or even Higuain might demand higher wages as a result
Jones, are you serious that 600k per week (30M post tax) is not news in Serie A? I would have thought it would be insane even in the PL. As for Juventus, I don't see how they suddenly change their mode of operation (i.e. being financially disciplined / balanced, not going for the "Galactico" signing, etc.) over the last few years and to what end. It's a strange one whichever way you cut it.
No you misunderstood, I meant it's not news that the earlier reported 30m was not pre- but post-tax. Those are ridiculous wages alright, no two ways about it.
they will almost definitely have to sell one of their other major assets for this. i just don't really see the upside for Juve here. it's not like they havent walked the league in the past 7 seasons, and with them having to most likely sell other good players to fund this, they aren't exactly likely to win the CL.
