He should just be subbed at half time every match, never does anything in the second half.
I vaguely remember him playing a part in our goals at West Ham, and they were all in the second half.
That win was so long ago that I might be forgetting things though....
He had 36 passes in this game, 30 of which were in the first half.
Unfair to judge him on that second half where no one did anything though.
We were out coached. Arteta had no response to Jorginho and the change of shape mid first half

To be fair nobody did anything in the 2nd half.
His legs have well and truly gone, I genuinely felt like he tried his best today and was involved in some good moves but he's finished.
What's also clear is we need someone of Ozil's level circa 2013 to make this shit team click.
He might wanna think about moving back to La Liga or something, where technique can make up for a lack of running. That's assuming he's motivated to still play football at a high level and not just collect a paycheque.

Thats exactly it. He looks really motivated but he can't give you more than a half with any intensity and by the hour mark he's totally spent.
Agree with whoever said it on the last page, he was good for an hour then he needed to come off. The thing is that someone else could've done just as well so it's not like he lit the world. Unfortunately we don't have anyone that's like him in the truest sense/role.
I'd imagine it would have been on Ozil to man mark Jorginho. Hard to imagine him up for that task.....imagine if Arteta had hooked Ozil for Willock after 25 minutes? That surely would have ended Ozil's time here.

so then the question is, are we better off starting him, or bringing him on in the 60th minute?
60th minute.
But that would mean starting Willock or ESR? Both are terrible options. Unless Ceballos is still in the picture. God our squad is depressing.
Maybe this was always the case? Didn’t Mourinho always sub him after 60-70 mins?
Ozil was good today and he was also good on Boxing Day.
Ppl like to moan on here for the sake of moaning.

Please refer to the Auba thread for our biggest moaning culprit without reasons.

The guy basically keeping us out of the relegation zone is a total fraud but our creative hub, highest paid player and star number 10 who has 1 league assist all season, well you better not criticise him.
Think Clrnc was referring to Sicario and not Auba.
Qs knows. 😆
