Don't think it's strange at all. Have the club ever made any announcements or articles acknowledging players getting married? I don't recall that ever happening.

Edit:
After a quick search, the closest thing I could find was a tweet by Walcott a couple years ago. Only official article that had something like that in it was a press conference where Emery was talking about Ozil getting married this summer from back in January.
