Of course they're milking it. You'd think Arseblog would find something else to devote a 1300 word post-match analysis to than banal musings about a Dennis Bergkamp quote from a player who wasn't in the squad though. "Collateral damage" 😆
Yeah but then nobody cares about arseblog and millions care about Özil and what he has to say. Hes certainly not helping the team with these tweets and beyond the love of his followers hes not helping himself either.
It sounds like an imagined storm in a teacup to me. Tearing into his twitter account because it calls for people to come together around the club after a loss just feels nefarious.
It’s obviously a PR, but you can’t blame a player for a bit of self promotion if it results in a backlash against Emery/the club. That’s a situation created by the latter.
Looking like the bridge has now been well and truly burned down. We've all seen this movie. Not long before he is banished from first team training.
Thanks for the memories ...
I hope Emery can withstand the lashes he will have to take if our season goes sour. It will be vicious.
Bizarre that we offered him the contract he’s on
Club was so mismanaged
We panicked. I think Wenger had the worst contract negotiation team of all the top sides. The initial rumours were us refusing to give him 200k. Suddenly, out of the blue, £350k. We may as well have had Trigger in charge
😆
Trig would pick better elevens than Emery to be fair.
Mostly, the key is his hand and he is working very well this week. I ask him in our conversations to be consistent, to be available for us training, when you can train with quality and consistency, it can help us with the best performance after in the games.

Emery bites first, the clearest ever statement of what he needs to do to get into the team
That would make some sort of sense. Ozil must have done something to piss him off.
Skysports reports the key is in his heart, not his hand.
Edit: Emery says hand.
I'm confused which is it now. Can someone please get Ja Rule on the phone so I can make sense out of this

the article made mention of the fact that ozil always has an illness and he misses training a lot, and that seems to be emery's biggest problem. if he doesnt want to train, hes not going to play.

I've felt he was hinting at that before. He said stuff like "he says he has a problem in his knee", etc Seems like it started around when Ozil was first benched.
What so Ozil exaggerates injury when he's told he's not starting a game?
I agree. No player should be picked if they miss training without a good enough reason. If this is true, Emery should straight up say this and everybody would understand Ozil's banishment. The politics they are playing atm is negative to both sides.
Of course he can’t say that publicly. Would be Mourinho level stupid for him to do so.
Also eventually it will come back and bite him in the arse. There will always be prima donna players. If he sets a precedent by calling out a star player like Ozil publicly most players who may want/deserve that allowance every now and then will definitely not want to play for him
"He needs to be consistent in training and for matches, without injury or being sick," Emery said. "Like that, we can see the best Mesut with us."

that is emery's exact quote from the article on the BBC. hes basically flat out saying it. he needs to train like a regular member of the first team or hes not going to play.
