Honestly I feel like too much of the Ozil discussion revolves around Emery. Ultimately, if we're all honest, he's more than good enough to be starting most games and certainly good enough to at least be on the bench in every game. Everything else should be saved for the summer.

Of course he’s good enough. Saying otherwise would be disingenuous.

That’s not the reason why he isn’t starting

Very true.
Kroenke has probably told Richard he has to trim the wage bill before he can sign the players he wants.
No point selling Welbeck, Xhaka and Mustafi who will go for peanuts.
Ozil's £350k a week is the jackpot and he is gambling on Ozil sacrificing cash to get game time elsewhere.
For this reason Ozil will never get a game whilst Emery is manager.

If our Performance Nutritionist is in charge of our wage bill then this club is far more fucked than I had ever imagined.

Ozil's PR team playing a blinder.

The audio on that 2nd clip keeps cutting out for me. What did he actually say in response to the question about leaving Ozil out?

Emery can screw off with this shit. Ozil can play like shit and he'll still create 50 more changes than our sorry excuse of a team. Even if he's trying to force him out, how the heck do you get someone to sign someone that never plays, they're a risk.

Fuck off with this bull shit and give him more starts.

I'm really curious what is happening behind the scenes. It's incredibly obvious he is getting frozen out and not for tactical reasons like "fight in away match". I mean who needs to fight against BATE?

Something about "let's talk about the players who are here", keeps cutting out for me too though.

Just read somewhere that Emery might be under orders to freeze Özil out for wage reasons, ie his 350kpw goes down significantly if hes not getting any game time. However kicker said that he had a cold and missed the game because of that so who the fuck knows.

Seems the OMITT's embed feature picked up on the fact that although his mouth was moving Emert he wasn't actually saying anything.

More proof he's a vampire

Q: Mesut Ozil displayed last night on social media that he is fit atm. Why have you decided to leave him in London?

A: Tuda today i think the protagonists is the player they are here and i think the respect eh for our player now is for this competition is to speak about the player they are ready to play today (smile)

All the while Emery serves up performances with little conviction and creativity then this Ozil saga has the potential to make things very uncomfortable for him.

I for one at the very least want to be entertained. Play Mesut

Fuck the Mail, just stirring shit.

Say that to the manager he's adding all the ingredients.

Nothing to make up.
Its coming straight from his mouth.
"Tuda today i think the protagonists is the player they are here and i think the respect eh for our player now is for this competition is to speak about the player they are ready to play today"

we'll get 4th without the flake.

Both need to go - for different reasons. Ozil because we can get better players to fill his wages and Emery because he's the new Mourinho and will get us nowhere. I was always a little worried about his teams leaking 50+ goals every season but thought his tactical setups and attacking mindset would compensate, but clearly not happening at all. He has made this team look even more of a Frankenstein's monster than Wenger did last season and that's a remarkable achievement after buying 5 players to specifically plug gaps in the team.

When will we be good to watch again? For me it's nearly seven years and counting, barring Ramsey's purple patch in late 2013.

Of course they're milking it. You'd think Arseblog would find something else to devote a 1300 word post-match analysis to than banal musings about a Dennis Bergkamp quote from a player who wasn't in the squad though. "Collateral damage" 😆

Yeah but then nobody cares about arseblog and millions care about Özil and what he has to say. Hes certainly not helping the team with these tweets and beyond the love of his followers hes not helping himself either.

It sounds like an imagined storm in a teacup to me. Tearing into his twitter account because it calls for people to come together around the club after a loss just feels nefarious.

It’s obviously a PR, but you can’t blame a player for a bit of self promotion if it results in a backlash against Emery/the club. That’s a situation created by the latter.

Looking like the bridge has now been well and truly burned down.
We've all seen this movie.
Not long before he is banished from first team training.

Thanks for the memories ...

I hope Emery can withstand the lashes he will have to take if our season goes sour. It will be vicious.

Bizarre that we offered him the contract he’s on

Club was so mismanaged

We panicked.
I think Wenger had the worst contract negotiation team of all the top sides.
The initial rumours were us refusing to give him 200k.
Suddenly, out of the blue, £350k.
We may as well have had Trigger in charge

Mostly, the key is his hand and he is working very well this week.

I ask him in our conversations to be consistent, to be available for us training, when you can train with quality and consistency, it can help us with the best performance after in the games.

Emery bites first, the clearest ever statement of what he needs to do to get into the team

That would make some sort of sense. Ozil must have done something to piss him off.

Skysports reports the key is in his heart, not his hand.

Edit: Emery says hand.

I'm confused which is it now. Can someone please get Ja Rule on the phone so I can make sense out of this

the article made mention of the fact that ozil always has an illness and he misses training a lot, and that seems to be emery's biggest problem. if he doesnt want to train, hes not going to play.

I've felt he was hinting at that before. He said stuff like "he says he has a problem in his knee", etc Seems like it started around when Ozil was first benched.

I agree.
No player should be picked if they miss training without a good enough reason.
If this is true, Emery should straight up say this and everybody would understand Ozil's banishment.
The politics they are playing atm is negative to both sides.

Of course he can’t say that publicly. Would be Mourinho level stupid for him to do so.

Also eventually it will come back and bite him in the arse. There will always be prima donna players. If he sets a precedent by calling out a star player like Ozil publicly most players who may want/deserve that allowance every now and then will definitely not want to play for him

"He needs to be consistent in training and for matches, without injury or being sick," Emery said.

"Like that, we can see the best Mesut with us."

that is emery's exact quote from the article on the BBC. hes basically flat out saying it. he needs to train like a regular member of the first team or hes not going to play.
