The decisions we are thinking about making around big games points to a real rot that has set in at the club. We are sixth. We want to send a bunch of kids out against United and Mourinho in Wenger’s last game against these vile adversaries so they can enjoy roasting him one last time. We have become so numb to being beaten that we are actively willing to send out a squad that should precipitate said outcome.

This is the kind of loser mentality that Wenger has allowed to creep in slowly. And we have not noticed it through the 6-0 beatings to Chelsea, 8-2 humiliations to United and various routs against Liverpool. We’ve been warmed slowly like frogs to accepting mediocrity.

We need to put out a proper team and try to beat these guys. And then go out and beat Atletico.

This is going to be ugly. Wenger's last visit to OT ending in horrendous defeat with a player he sold getting the bulk of the goals. Ugly. Not looking forward to this AT ALL. We gonna be hit for 5 or 6 here.

I'd rest Xhaka and go with the following :

---------------Ospina
-----Chambers--Merte---Holding---
Nelson------AMN------Wilshere----Kola
--------Iwobi----------Welbeck------

Tell the whole team not to cross the half way line except the front 3. Mourinho just needs a goal and after that he'll instruct his team to sit back and play on the counter. We'll end up with 2 teams reluctant to attack. I'd take 1-0 or even 2-0 loss.

The match against Atletico is all that matters right now

Is it safe to play Welbeck three times in a week? He's pretty important for Thursday.

Wilshere will not be risked as he is injury-prone and his play was crucial to our midfield control in the first leg.
Maybe he was still not well but Ozil lacked his normal burst in the last game so maybe we should give him at least an hours run out.

Baba it depends, does it not? If you genuinely feel that at this stage of the season and in Wenger’s career that a positive league game result (against whomever), which has bascially zero impact on our overall standing is worth risking players for, when arguably our biggest away game of the decade and of Wenger’s career is on the horizon. I agree we should want to win it, and put our best foot forward every game but I bet the manager wouldn’t think like that.

I don’t care much either way as I don’t believe we will come away with a favorable result in either game, especially following the let down this past week.

For me, every game is just a marker. Countdown till Wexit.

Would be an exciting way to give him 15 or so debut minutes. I'm all for it. I'd start Nelson and tell him this to show how good he is as well.

Just as long as we don't embarrass ourselves up there.
