Our first teamers would have been too predictable for Mourinho to guess and counter, especially our brain dead midfielders and defenders. Performance wise it's been so long since we can go there and dominate them for the majority of the match.

Some of those first teamers have zero motivation in the league now anyway. Allowing young hungry players to have a chance was the right call.

I hate that an animated mop defeated us, but I’m happy that young and new players gave good accounts of themselves. Hopefully, those players can take some confidence into Thursday.

We need to score, so Mkhi has to start. Hopefully the combination of him and Ozil creates more movement and space for us up front, especially for Ramsey to run into. I think that should be the difference.

Considering two of those wins effectively won us two titles then not bad. Not bad at all.

Also during our early years before Wenger lost it, how many times did they beat us at Highbury and the early years at the Emirates? What was the difference between how many times they beat us at our place vs us at theirs? How many times did they beat us in total during that time vs how many we beat them? Didn't Wenger have the better head to head record vs Fergie until 2008 or 09 (don't remember the year of the CL semi against them when it all started going downhill for the club, not only against United).

I'm guessing Captain thinks what most of us think. It's time for Wenger to leave, he should've probably won more than three times there and it's disrespectful to call our most successful manager Le Fraud.

Those three wins all came between 98 and 06 didn't they? That's an insanely good record actually given the disgraceful refereeing performances we were subjected to at that swamp. Wenger's lost the plot a long time ago but if you want to beat him with some stick then do it with his more recent performances at their ground

This match didn't go the way I expected, have to say. No particular doom and gloom for Madrid, no triggers of the PTSD sustained in the 8-2.
