That's a Sevilla thing, they've always been poor away and strong at home.
He's a million times more likely to be a success than Arteta, come on. Bit of a gamble how well he'd work out in England as his two spells outside of Spain have been mixed but then again it's difficult for anyone to shine in Russia and the PSG job is a poisoned chalice.
More so than his work at Sevilla I think he's done extremely well at Valencia - five seasons since he left them and outside Nunos spell there they never got into the CL, under him they never finished below 4th. Managed that while losing the likes of David Villa, Silva or Mata season after season and had a great record of developing youngsters also bought well, brought Soldado as a cheap Villa replacement got three 30ish goals seasons out of him then got 30m from Spurs for him.
Did the same at Sevilla then, had to deal with his best players nabbed like Negredo Rakitic Gameiro Vitolo Bacca etc. Saying he finished 5th is ignoring the 77 points they got just one point behind 4th placed Valencia in 2015. Yes their league form overall could be better but that's what playing 60+ games for three seasons straight does to you, also it's not like the teams who finished above him were shithouses.
Overall you'd worry that his time at PSG might have damaged him as he's been constantly ridiculed and not taken seriously despite coming off a domestic treble but in terms of managerial ability and coaching methods he's up there with the best and we could do a lot worse. He was versatile enough to always get the best out of his ever-changing teams which would give hope that he'd fix this shambles we call our squad. He got two great seasons out of Mbia who's looked completely braindead everywhere else before or after, I'm pretty sure he could coach some tactical understanding into our happy go lucky lot. He's used to work under budget constraints and given our stingy board we need someone who turn shit into gold rather than some like Allegri who puts polish on a working machine.
All in all looking at the names thrown around he's easily the best candidate we've been linked with. If it's between him and Arteta it's no contest at all.
