A few folks on here were hyping him up so I started following him on Twitter, but it took about 5 mins to realise this kid is on a trip of some sorts. As if anyone is going to risk their job or their time of day informing this little shit.

The only ITK that’s ever been super reliable was the guy who used to post stuff on the F365 forums. Legend used to them rely the info onto AM. Remember I was able to impress my mates by confirming the Reyes/Baptists Cole/Gallas swap hours before it was confirmed in the news.

what has made him not credible now? most of the stuff in the above tweet is fairly true. the names of lemar and malcom were coming up in ornsteins tweets, so we know we were pretty interested in them. he was absolutely adamant for months that wenger was leaving regardless of how this season turned out. for me, he's still in credit as far as twitter muppets go

If it means we actually have a few clues and some communication the upside to so-so is still a huge leap,
as we were/are far much worse than bad.

Remembering that our 1st target is to regain CL, after which we can look to improve and build a title challenging/CL quality squad as needs be.

Emery would be great. He is always making the best of what he has at his disposal. His body of work is sensational. Despite limited funding, he has always managed to build an excellent squad with fantastic quality depth.

I'd rather Arteta. 3 UEL's hides his mediocre domestic record (5th, 5th and 7th), which is pretty much where they continue now, after he has left. I know he pulled them up from a couple of seasons in mid-table to 5th, but doesn't strike me as an impressive track record. He'd be a perfect fit for our away form though - didn't he go an entire season without an away win at Sevilla 😃

You'd prefer Arteta on what basis though? What do you have to go on in terms of empirical evidence that he would be the better choice?

Have to say I wasn't particularly impressed by his PSG. The one plus side to Arteta being an unknown quantity of sorts is that he could, in theory, turn out to be great and rival the likes of Pep and Klopp just as much as he could turn out to be useless. The problem with guys like Emery is that it's hard to imagine them being any better than decent. I'd rather gamble frankly.

There's been talk about safe options etc, I think he's the ultimate safe, middle of the road option.

Emery is quality and has proper top level experience which should be an absolute prerequisite for the situation this club is in at the moment.

-3 time Europa League winner (we would be favourites to win it next season under him)
-Able to work within a budget (Sevilla)
-Great football
-Experience managing egos (Neymar)

On the basis of what we know about Emery. Obviously since Arteta hasn't managed a club we don't have empirical evidence that he'll be better. We don't have evidence that Arteta will be better than Hughes, Sherwood or Allardyce either, but if I don't like what I see from a manager then I'll rather have the unknown quantity, as Goon said.

It's all relative. This is Arteta vs Emery (a proven top class manager). Not Arteta vs Hughes or Allardyce.

I'm not comparing Emery with Hughes. I'm saying that you can't discount a manager only because of lack of empirical evidence, as that would also mean you would also have to pick Hughes and Allardyce over Arteta.
