allegri won the double 4 straight seasons, in a non-mickey mouse league. he did it without juve spending huge sums of money. i looked at transfermrkt, last summer juve's net spend was less than £10m. the year before, they spent a fortune on higuain and got man united to pay even more for pogba and they didnt even miss a beat.
but people keep shitting all over him because hes older than 35 and doesn't play kamikaze football. it just doesnt make sense to me. juve scored 84 goals in serie a this season, most in the league, and 10 more goals than we scored in the premier league. people here bitch and moan constantly about the terrible goals we concede (rightly so), yet turn their nose up at someone who can obviously organize and coach defenders.
people have bitched about wenger's inflexible tactics, his stubbornness, and allegri is basically the polar opposite of that. people always praise his ability to adjust on the fly and make tweaks from game to game, and within games.
i get that juve is a powerhouse in italy, but its not like hes won the third division in poland or something. and beyond just completely dominating serie a, hes made deep runs in europe. his first season, they made it to the final and lost to barca, beating dortmund, monaco, and real madrid along the way. in his third season, they made it back to the final, beating porto, barcelona, and monaco before losing to real madrid in the final. this year, they got hosed against real madrid. so, in europe, hes beaten both barcelona and real madrid across 2 legs in the last 4 years.
but hes not good enough for arsenal.
