I think we'll continue to break even. Probably less reserves. But overall breaking even maybe a little more one year and a little less the year after.

Indeed. 200m (net spend) may be stretching it, but barring some kind of transfer market wizardry, I don't see how a 50m spend makes this squad a strong top 4 contender, let alone a title contender.

Saw an article that suggested we had tried to get Tuchel to change his mind re PSG but he had declined.

Haven't heard anything to say that Jardim was unavailable.
Perhaps the lack of speculation regarding him may mean that he is very much a genuine contender as opposed to the noise generated about the likes of BR & Co?

We also know that neither Tuchel or Nagelsmann are going to Bayern next season.
Is either Conte or Ancelotti taking the Italian national job?
How does Howe stack up alongside the likes of BR, PV etc?
Is he still considered to be the next best English manager?

To my mind, Tuchel would be the best candidate, through his tactics and style of play, but I really like Jardim as well. The only issue is with Jardim’s defence, but he has had players taken from him every season.

I still think Arteta would be a mistake, and the likes of Rodgers is simply frightening.

They can whilst either are still under contract, which they both currently are.

I've not heard of a manager having a release clause, putting in a transfer request or going on strike to force a move.
Usually the minimum compensation is to buy/pay out the remainder of their contract - even then there is no compulsion on the contract holders to agree or settle.

IIRC there was an article after his 1st season at Monaco where he was criticised for being too defensive and risk adverse in his style and tactics. Having said that in hindsight it could have simply been a means to an ends to provide a foundation for the youngsters and to build his subsequent more fluid attacking style.

As for losing players he's lost about 4-5 match day players in each of the past 2 seasons.
I'd love to know who has found these players.
