That doesn't sound good at all.

Apparently the agent played a huge part in the decision, he didn't want to ruin the relationship with PSG.
Player/agent dynamic in football really is bizarre.
Hope he rots in their reserves and vanishes into obscurity #notbitter
Fuck, I was buying into the hype on this guy.
Everywhere that reports that he's staying are all quoting the same source, RMC.. Is RMC reliable?
Same source who reported he was joining us I think.

so.. apparently not reliable..
Chris Wheatley too saying that Adli has snubbed us. He's also saying that we're looking for Torreira + a GK and CB. Glad to hear that we're looking for a goalkeeper, was beginning to wonder if we'd just go with Cech.
Signed 3 players, in talks with another 3.
Almost making me miss the days when Wenger would tell us we can't sign anyone because of the World Cup.

Emery should be all over this. Go for Rabiot.

They need real help - relieve them of Mbappe. That should set them on a path of financial sustainability
According to Standard
Arsenal eye £50m triple swoop for Torreira, Leno and Sokratis. Lucas Pérez is expected to be told he can leave and Shkodran Mustafi could also be made available for transfer, as Sven Mislintat has doubts over him. Emery in the market for another central defender, Leno set to take over from Čech.
If we are selling Mustafi and Chambers then that could rake in another £40mil easily. That's enough for another, quality CB.
Only issue I'd have with that is that Kos (the crock) would be first backup and aside from him it would be rookies Mavropanos and Holding. All for it though.
I would rather have a great starting CB than one extra mediocre backup.
Summer not quite going in the direction I would have hoped. Leno, Sokratis, Lich and Torriera are hardly players who are going to get us back into the top 4. Hopefully we now go out for top, top quality as Wenger would put it. Move Mustafi, Chambers Xhaka and Lacazette for around 120m and put 150m on a CB, CM and WF. Too much work for one window though.
Not optimistic about next season. We seem to going down the Liverpool/Spurs route a few seasons back of quantity over quality.
Hope I'm wrong.

Regardless of who we buy Aubameyang will be our most important signing in terms of next season, and he's already here. It really begs belief that we managed to pull it off because we had absolutely no right to. He arrived too late to save Wenger but he can still save the team.
I think you're wrong about Sokratis, Torreira and Leno though. These are signings you make when you're on a budget and you try to reclaim top 4. It's not really the signings you make when you want to stay in the top 4 or aim higher, but let's take one step at a time. We need a new defence and a new midfield this summer, and we need them on a budget. This is how it's gonna be.
agreed with that, klaus.
our foundation has been built on sand in the last few seasons. time to strip it down, build a solid base, and then expand upward. sokratis isnt a flashy young prospect, but hes a pro. if he can stay fit, thats a good start, and i think lichtsteiner will only help bellerin's development, because hes an intelligent player who knows where to position himself, even if he no longer has a world class engine to bomb up and down the pitch for 90 minutes. im less sold on leno, but i think evaluating goalkeepers is really difficult.

agreed. in the context of us being europa level for the past 2 seasons running, it's been a solid summer thus far
Kylian Mbappé: I dream of being trained by Arsène Wenger.
Ffs, when we have Wenger Mbappe chooses Emery. When we have Emery he dreams of Wenger.
Even given our context as not being a top4 club IMO this transfer window is shaping up to be bloody brilliant.
The UEFA window hasn't opened as yet and it looks like we have all but confirmed at least 4 senior players, of whom 3 can be expected to be looked upon as starters. Further to this we are reportedly still in talks with at least 1 more CB of starting level, and possibly a wide player and another CM/AM, and all this before we know who is staying and who will be sold.
IIRC there was early talk that we / Mislintat wanted to sign a new back 5 & it was generally dismissed as being crazy - doesn't look so far fetched now & we could well end up with nearly half a new team or more depending on departures.
