We are not compromising our CB if we sell Mustafi, it will be addition through subtraction.

Happy to see Mustafi, Welbeck, Perez, Ospina/Cech all go etc. Won't let Monreal go unless we are targeting a new LB.

A top attacking mid who is pacey is a must get. Coman would be brilliant.

I could handle a better coached Chambers in a defence protected by Torreira in the mean time

Need that top drawer wide man who can get defenders on the back foot

Yeah, a top winger is nearly as rare as a top striker. I'd happily compromise with our CBs for another season in return.

And Unai did say he'd prefer to win 4-3 than 1-0.

Thought he said 5-4, to be precise 🙂 I agree - Chambers for Mustafi doesn't sound like a huge compromise in an anyway leaky defense.

Apparently Malcom is in talks with Roma, Everton and Inter. Given we are supposedly on the hunt for a WF, am surprised we are not in for him. Dybala and Coman are clearly long shots and Dembele feels like it's off (or at the very least, we don't have a tangible edge except Raul's Barca connections, which are probably not worth much in such a situation). Don't know where that leaves us (except with Welbeck).

Feel like all big clubs are keeping their options open for when the merry-go-round kicks off with the inevitable move by Real to replace Ronaldo.

The merry-go-round, if any, has been triggered by Ronaldo's move to Juve, since that will shake someone loose there. Feels like Higuain -> Chelsea and Morata -> Milan, so not sure what anyone else gets out of that.

20 days later

Jeremy Wilson (probably ranks a distant 2nd on the reliability list after Orny) says we won't be bringing in anyone else this window. Still looking to ship Ospina and possibly Welbeck. Perez gone.

Makes loaning Chambers out all the more strange.

Think we are done

So disappointing we didn’t address our well known defensive issues with more conviction

Oh well Jenko can always be called upon

Shipping out Perez and Welbeck without bringing anyone in is also very strange.

Window started out in a promising manner, the enthusiasm fizzled out in the end.

We are going to put a lot of trust in our youth it seems.

Don’t have an issue with gambling on youth but we should have signed a top class centre back in that case and no Sokratis.

Apparently not all that much, given that we have loaned Chambers out for a second season in 3. Strange club.

We'll get a defender in surely, otherwise the chambers loan is a total fuck up and I'm back to questioning what's going on behind the scenes

We've left it too late to make any other big moves. We ran out of cash pretty early in the window

We were never going to make any big signings this summer. We spent big money on Aubameyang, and there were loads of reports this summer that we didn't have much money available. I think we'll be very inconsistent next season, with some terrific matches and some awful matches. We look pretty good going forward, but our back four will probably be awful at times.

I really thought we were going to go for the Turkish CB after sending Chambers on loan. Seems like Leicester are going to get him in addition to the other CB they signed.

Transfer deadline expectations at Arsenal: No more ins. Perez to West Ham. Maybe a move for Welbeck but far from agreed while other possible outs abroad, such as Ospina, will probably drag further into August

This can't be real, can it?

We are going into the season with Mustafi,Sokratis(never played yet in the PL), Holding and Mavropanos(has played 3 games for Arsenal)? That's suicidal, why would we loan Chambers, makes 0 sense.
