The rule is that you can register maximum one player who has played for another team in a UEFA tournament this season, but that one player's previous club cannot be in the same competition as the new club.

[Ruhr Nachrichten] Anthony Modeste, Olivier Giroud, and Michy Batshuayi on Dortmund's radar to replace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Aubameyang agreed personal terms with Arsenal but no bid has been received.

The Ruhr Nachrichten guy is apparently very reliable when it comes to stuff from Germany and Dortmund.

I always wonder about that - I imagine the club and) Dortmund are in discussion which why we have permission to talk to the player. But the process hasn't progressed far enough for a final bid to be submitted. I doubt clubs submit bids until they think it has a good chance of being accepted
