Deffo not a good sign if he starts against freiburg
Some parallels to the suarez saga. Wantaway player, selling club sticking to their guns, us refusing to meet the valuation

Sigh Suarez would have changed our trajectory, may have had a league trophy under our belt by now.
Starting to get a little worrried but still think it will get done. Two clubs just playing hardball.
Has anyone heard the Arsenal or Aubameyang sides communicating where things stand? I suspect that Dortmund are using the press to heap pressure on Arsenal, maybe even to draw other bidders. We are still about 10m pounds off their public stance. Next bid will be important - it needs to be big enough to close this out, but it can’t be so big that it appears that we’ve been overly aggressive with our offers all along, because then it will just eventually propel us to the €70m publicly communicated price.
No question Dortmund are using every avenue to make the negotiation as prickly as possible
Of course they are seeking the best deal but our own actions in the transfer market mean we aren't really in a strong enough position to play hardball. If they genuinely want a replacement then they can't wait too much longer to conclude this and if we push too far we might repeat the lemar debacle.
Fuck Dortmund. I wouldn't mind if they were like this all the time but you don't get to play hardball when you say thanks while letting Bayern piss all over you every time they come calling
I couldn't give a shit about Dortmund and how they look. Just pay the fucking money for once and improve the squad.
So, Bild have joined Kicker in reporting that #Aubameyang to @Arsenal may not happen at all. There's a €15m difference between Dortmund's asking price (€70m) and Arsenal's offer.
Bild has learned that if #AFC do not up the offer in a timely manner, Auba’s move will be postponed until summer.
We will fuck this up, I'm sure of it now

Absolutely this. The club are once again taking the absolute piss if they don't get this over the line. I'm no fan of the obscene amounts of money ruining football, but the club's 'holier than thou' attitude never seems to extend to sticking their hands into their fans pockets.

If we want to go about improving the squad there are better ways to spend 70m than on Aubameyang. I don't mind getting him on the cheap, if they stick to their valuation take that 70m and spend it on Fornals and Lafont and we're a much better outfit for it
It's not like he's the only player around worth spending on
He's a quality striker who seemingly wants to come here. That's an important consideration at this point, given the diminishing status of the club. Who knows, maybe it shows some ambition and can help to convince Ozil and others to re-sign. Given the absurd market, paying 65 mil for him shouldn't be turned down.
£60m is a reasonable price in the current market for one of the worlds top strikers over the last few years.
This is dead. We are happy to overpay for third rate players but constantly lowballing for top class players. This is the most retarded transfer policy in the top flight.

This is spot on.
And yeah looks dead. If its is then we wont finish higher than 6th.
Yep ain't happening. Steller negotiating once again. Shades of Xabi Alonso and Suarez.
And the difference in this deal seems to be less than the £20m we could have got for Mkhi. Stupid decisions all round.

We've made like £30 million in profit on transfers since the summer too. This club is disgusting.
Spend 35m on Xhaka, refuse to spend an extra 10m on one of the best goalscorers around. Brilliant.
Brilliant way to convince Özil to sign a new deal too. "Look, we've already secured one of United's worst signings in modern history. What more do you want?"
