I find it very hard to believe that the interest is real given the interest showm by other big clubs and the potential issues with ownership complications. We will see but Malcom does not seem like the type of players we usually go about signing.

According to Chris Wheatley the talk of third party ownership is wrong and Bordeaux own his rights.

Is third party ownership even legal in France? I'm fairly certain that they outlawed it at the same time Premier League did, after the Tevez/Mascherano affair.

By all accounts he will be done by next week. Would be lovely.

It's not legal anymore, but any third party agreements in place before the ban in 2015 are still legitimate. I believe that everyone's wish list target Fabinho has some third party ownership thing associated with him; Monaco got him for 10 cents as the Monaco owner and Mendes set up some offshore company to own his rights and manipulated his transfer fee.

Suspiciously timed news for this rumour but I really hope its true.

He's been pretty accurate about transfers in general.

This is the Brazilian journalist who broke the news of our interest first in Dec.

No doubt the club are leaking this to everyone in the hopes of placating us all for a while.

Wenger sounds oddly dismissive about this link. His tone doesn’t align at all with reports.

because he doesnt rate him, and its sven doing the recruiting now

That’s my suspicion too.

Have we a source for the Wenger doesn't want him thing?

That Barca guy is supposedly leading negotiations despite starting in Feb.

That will just be gardening leave; he'll be lining up his role already if there is anything about him.

I really hope he’s up to it. Barca’s track record of late has not been exceptional. Hopefully he redeems himself here. At the very least he will not be intimated by a big name

Apparently Malcom has told teammates he’s leaving for us but we’ve low balled Bordeaux -£17.5m with add ons

If that's true the transfer definitely will not happen.

Do we always lowball below lowball figures? ?

There were some claims from agents about Bordeaux only owning 50% of Malcom's rights, but Bordeaux's president confirmed they do indeed own 100% last year.

The president of Bordeaux declared that the club paid to fully acquire the economic rights of Malcom, and not just half. He said: "We did everything perfectly, legally. If there was a third-party, it should be registered and stated at FIFA. Bordeaux bought 100% of the rights. Everything is transparent and legal, as always in the club."

sounds like wenger still has the password for the arsenal email account. fuck.

Nah, Sven has it now apparently...

Reports suggest they want to hang on to him till the summer while we don’t want to loan him back to them. I’m guessing that’s the real reason Wenger is being coy and distant about it. I imagine if we want him it will require a premium.

just pony up if we really want him. we should be sitting on a pile of unspent transfer fees and wage space

Oh that's nice. Sanchez will only leave once we signed a replacement, that's what the club said. Let's see what happens.

😆  The club is full of shit, I wouldn't believe anything they say.

If we can't get this guy to replace Alexis with, we'll just replace him with Mhikytaryan or whatever other shitster United will give us.

Worst case scenario is that we get Mkhitaryan as part of the Sanchez deal and we pull the plug on Malcom because of that.

According to Chilean publication El Mercurio, Mkhitaryan doesn't want to move here because we're shit and can't match his wages. These swap deals are pretty much always just journalistic fantasies anyway.

I reckon Mkhitaryan would kill to move to Arsenal and work with Wenger.

I can't stand him as a player, but beggars can't be choosers, so I'd take him. He's better than Iwobi and Welbeck added together.

Atualização: reunião que pode definir a transferência de Malcom para o Arsenal está em andamento. À espera de novidades...

That's only cos I + W = I

Figures the one player I was the most excited about is the least likely transfer to happen.

Makes me sad, but could also be posturing for more money.

It's Portuguese actually.

Looks like this one's not happening now. All media reporting that this move has gone cold. Bruno (who was one of the early ones to break the story) thinks that his agents could have been in London as they also represent Emerson Palmieri, who has interested Chelsea.

Or he was just there to shop around his players to various clubs. It happens all the time.

Bordeaux's president admitted that we were interested though, so let's see what happens now. Malcom always seemed more like a Walcott replacement than a Sanchez replacement to me.
