The thought crossed my mind too. We should have significant wage space if both theo and alexis go

We don’t really play with wide players and have two tens so technically we’ll play Malcom in the number ten role.

Yeah, I won’t cheapen myself like Daz.

Do it goon, you know you want to.

Malcom's mother, writing "From Brazil to the United Kingdom". Make of it what you will. 😆

She’s supposedly talking to one of the agents involved and giving said agent kisses from Brazil to the UK. Still encouraging but nowhere near as promising as first reported by some.

This feels like a deal we’d normally go nowhere near with such a complex 3rd party ownership.

Spurs and United as well as Liverpool also interested

Spurs interest was the first I seen reported. Looks like everyone is on his case though. If Wenger and the club want him they'll have to show some real resolve.

More a Theo replacement than a Sanchez is my gut feeling.

Dunno, plays a lot like a Sanchez. Cuts in, dribbles like a mofo, holds onto the ball a smidge too long.

The only thing we can offer is a "guaranteed" starter spot. If he joined pool he'd be competing with salah. Similar with other top clubs.

Arsenal is the smart choice if we're competing with other clubs. He's guaranteed a starting spot and leaving whenever he pleases won't be an issue for him.

If he has a choice between the clubs mentioned we will absolutely be the last choice.

He seems to prefer London, at Spurs he will get minimum wage.

And to get into the spirit Jack’s bringing back Ronaldo’s finest hair do

Looks good in game highlights versus PSG

Most certainly suited to the right so wouldn’t view him as a Sánchez replacement. We’d need quality on the left so Draxler, Guedes, Fekir, Pulisic needed

So hope Theo goes

Pulisic has been utter shit this season. He's talented but not even remotely on the level of the others you've named

Watched a few videos from his days at Corinthians, this kid really is a talent. That speed he has is unusual for a player so small. Not just explosive, but fast over longer distances and even when carrying the ball. Clear as day he has great touch and technique and that left foot! I like the look of him a lot, the kind of exciting player we need more of.

Doubt there is anything in this to be honest. Everything seems to suggest this is all a load of hot air by the club just to guage fan feeling about the possibility of the club selling Sanchez and going against its original claims of keeping him to his contract.

Looks electric.

Getting my hopes up now. We’d finally have an exiting player in our front three. He’ll be a better fit for our style than Alexis

Trouble is we’ll only sign him when we need strengthening elsewhere too

I don't think the club has hid the fact that they were always willing to sell Sanchez if the right deal and replacement could be found. Wenger was even hinting at this early in the summer. The club completely showed their hand with that deadline day shambles. All the talk about letting him go for free was a public negotiating stance

They aren't using 'interest' in a no name 20 year old to cover for Sanchez leaving

We bid big for Lemar in the summer, if that had gone through we'd have sold Sanchez. To me this looks like a similar situation. We will try to get Malcom and if we can we'll sell Sanchez, hopefully not to United.

Just read the paper summary - United, City, Liverpool and Chelsea are making moves for Sanchez. Great being an Arsenal fan isn’t it

I'm certain all last summer thr club was going on and on about how we would not be selling Sanchez even if he rejected a new deal and that if it came down to it that he'd leave on a free. Whether we believed them or not is neither here nor there. What transpired on deadline day was a bit of a farce given all the talk previously about not petting go of players even those in the last year of their contracts and especially not selling to rivals. Same thing with Ox. Wenger's stance has always been to pretend that the players were not for sale.

Didn't say that did I. What I said was that I would not be surprised if these leaks of our interest in X Y and Z are just the club's way gauging fan sentiment.

Looks like that's exactly what you said.

Ho hum.

What would be the point of gauging fan sentiment on Sanchez replacements if you have no intention of following through?

Also this has been reported by the Beeb, the Guardian, Cross, various foreign outlets as well as his agents being spotted in London. While it wouldn’t be the first time to come to nothing, there’s also nothing to suggest it’s just hot air.

Actually it's not. Repeating that it is won't change that.

You're suggesting that I said they are definitely selling Sanchez and are using this interest to appease fans.

What I actually said was they are using the interest to guage fan reaction to the signing and whether fans seem excited enough at the potential signing to ignore any potential sale. Or whether fans will be pissed off regardless once they link the interest to the potential sale of Sanchez.

Maybe I'm giving more credit to the club than it deserves by suggesting that they may use the reactions of the fans to decide whether or not to even sell Sanchez rather than hold him to his contract.

I find it very hard to believe that the interest is real given the interest showm by other big clubs and the potential issues with ownership complications. We will see but Malcom does not seem like the type of players we usually go about signing.

The club has proven they don't give a shit about fan sentiment.

He does seem more like the type of player liverpool or bayern would go for. They base their games around explosive threat from wide areas moreso than us

Judging from the reports he has been left put today it seems that they don't and that he may actually be off regardless.

According to Chris Wheatley the talk of third party ownership is wrong and Bordeaux own his rights.

The idea that the club cared about fan opinion is long gone after the Wenger contract.

Hmm. Not really sold on this guy. Hoping he is a Theo replacement and not Sanchez..

I don't think he's a Sanchez replacement we had Theo and ox for thr right side and they're both gone.

In the next 6months we need a player for the left one for the right a new number10 and a new striker when giroud leaves. A brand new attack and that's just up front. We've left it good an late so the chance of signing last minute shitsters is very high.

We need to get deals like this done.

And with Coq sold, Wilshere out of contract in the summer and Ramsey with one year left we probably need a new midfield as well.
