Beg to differ, he has been scoring and assisting goals at a good rate throughout his career. His current rate might not be sustainable given that no other Liverpool player in history has had this amount of goals by January and he's a winger FFS, but he has always been a very effective player in the final 3rd.

Aye, I think Salah is maintaining a consistent development curve. It's a fluke when you do it for half a season. It's a character trait when you've never scored at a worse rate than 1 in 2 in the last three years. He's not going to keep up a goal per game for Liverpool but he's easily a 20-25 goal per season player, and as an added certificate of authenticity it doesn't seem to matter which league he's playing in. I can't see him staying at Liverpool for very long either.

Lemar to Liverpool doing the rounds. We are stuck in reverse while all the good players go to  other clubs. But hey, top six.

Chelsea linked with Andy Carroll. He'd have finish some chances against us yesterday.

Liverpool have been working on a long term plan for years. Its probably why they were so upset when we bid for Suarez. They deliberately signed the best young players they could find for years. When they were confident they'd got the players they needed. They purposefully targeted klopp as a coach who develops players rather than signing a more organisational manager. What they've lost on the organisational front thwy've made up for on the development front.

One of their coaches explained this plan to me years ago. And they played it out. It's like a young Wenger 101 plan. But the struggle to stay in the top four and Wenger loosing his mojo. I think has left us with short term planning.

Our defence, keeper and attack need a massive overhaul and we might need to buy some budding stars to work on as the WC players aren't gonna rush to join this shitshow.

so they've spent 200m on the likes of VVD, keita, AOC, salah, and robertson

if they get 130m in the door for coutinho, would they really be willing to splurge on 80-90m on lemar as well? it would show they're not fucking around, that's for sure

If they lose Can they will have to rebuild a little again.

They've signed keita already for a big fee. My point was they're being run very well.

Barkley to Chelsea. At least we don't have to worry about signing that guy.

Makes sense, would fit their counter attacking style.

Klopp makes them work and fight like dogs on the pitch. Mahrez could struggle with that.

No he won't. He would struggle with that under Wenger bit not with a manager like Klopp

Keita incoming. Marvellous player.

I’m not convinced by Keita. Looks like he’ll struggle positionally

About Keita : nobody was convinced about Salah either. Liverpool have done brilliantly in the market for their midfielders and attackers and have tried to make sure of their defense as well.

Nope , not to the extent he has performed at. No way.

I doubt Liverpool were convinced to the extent that he has performed at either. Anyone who says otherwise is a liar. Plenty of people wanted him here though, myself included.

one of the most reliable Liverpool reporters has stated that Coutinho is gone.

I don't know how he will cope with the pace and aggression of the premiership but he looks a more complete midfielder than any of liverpool's so i don't think he is at risk of ever being the fifth wheel.

£142m for Coutinho... this game. Nearly as bad as £75m for van Dijk.

Not convinced. He has a cavalier approach but it will leave Liverpool hugely exposed to counters

They've got Jurgen Klopp managing them they're always going to be hugely exposed to counters.

The man has skill, intelligence, pace and knows how to tackle making him the leading "turnover" machine in the bundesliga (drawing defensive comparisons to kante who has a fraction of his ability going forward).
I think there will be a few more players ahead him in the queue to blame for leaving liverpool exposed to counters and one of them (Ox, Henderson, Can, ...) would, more than likely be dropped/sold.

Can is joining Juve on a free in the summer

Shame as i think he is shit and klopp getting rid must do, as well.
My older bandwagon supporting brother likes liverpool so, like tottenham, i've always hated them from since i can remember.

Can is a good player in my opinion and Liverpool were desperate to keep him.

Coutinho is a big miss - will allow teams to double up on Salah

It seems German players love to run down their contracts: Ozil, Can, Goretzka, etc.

It weakens them in the short run but £142m is ample compensation if properly spent.

How does he compare to our midfielders?
(Genuine question as i hardly watch other teams these days)

Can would walk into our starting XI in my opinion.

Completely different to Jack and Ramsey, but he's a much better two-way midfielder than Xhaka for me. And infinitely better than all of them from physical and defensive standpoint.

Guess this means top 4 back on.

Yes. Coutinho done deal.
One day, one of you will explain to me how Barca in a market of one managed to bid a rumoured 146m pound for Coutinho. He's an excellent player, but I can't see how he's that much more valuable than other attacking midfielders. Plus Barca are desperate to sign him and use the last of the Neymar monies when a) they are easily winning La Liga and b) they can't use him in the Champions League. They could wait until June and wear Liverpool down. There's nobody else desperate for Coutinho.

Worries me slightly that we are signing Raul Sanllehi as he must have had some part in this, the Dembele and other overpriced or mindboggling Barca transfers in recent seasons.
