So basically AMN's looks better because he hasn't faced many. He's stopped 7 out of 10 dribbles faced whilst Bellerin stopped 6 out of 24 dribbles faced. Not a good look for Bellerin but still, the sample size for AMN is ridiculously low.
Also Bellerin doesn't get much help from his wingers until recently with Saka on the right resulting in him being double teamed quite often. When there is a fullback with defensive support from the winger the opposition player is less likely to even attempt a dribble and is more likely to pass back or infield instead.
so AMN could go 0 for his next 14 dribbles faced and would still have a better percentage.
Yes, I did mention it doesn't look good for Bellerin but there are also other things to consider. The likelihood of someone attempting to dribble past you is less when you have defensive support. I'm not talking specifically about AMN because he is a freak physically and when he's focussed it's almost impossible to pass him.
In any case the stat does need some clarification. What does dribbled past mean? I remember that stat showing Van Dijk never being dribbled past only because of the fact that the person who passed him did not complete a pass or shot right afterwards or some shit like that.
These stats are pretty meaningless especially when you have your own eyes to see what's happening on the pitch. Bellerin was never the strongest defender in the first place but on top of that he hasn't had much defensive support up until the last couple games with Saka ahead of him. Of course his stats aren't going to look all that great.
