Yeah I feel the same about Barkley I just think we are so short on depth and players of the right age.

No one at Everton has been much use this season. Gueye was good last season though.

I'd have taken Barkley in the summer too, but I'd leave him be right now. We have too many players who struggle with injuries and their longterm effects.

Theo should go if there's a decent offer though. There's no real loss to us, performance-wise, and we could always use the cash.

WE should definitely let Theo go, he's completely surplus to requirements. IT'd be best for us and him and I'd wish him well.

I see him described that way a lot, and I just don't agree. Neither do any Everton fans I've seen. I think his technique and vision is impressive, albeit inconsistent. He's limited to certain features at Everton in my opinion. If Spurs end up signing him like rumoured he's probably going to be a great player for them.

His technique was pretty good but there's no way I'd ever describe his vision as impressive. One of the most 'head down' players I've ever seen. I can't think of another player who either misses or delays an obvious pass more often than him.

Well listening to Everton fans you'll probably also learn that Steven Pienaar was anything but a complete waste of space. You really shouldn't listen to Everton fans

Seriously though, I never liked Barkley even when he was putting up good numbers. When you're on a team with Lukaku, Mirallas even Seamus fucking Coleman and you still stick out as going exceptionally often for glory chances are you'll never become a good player. I've watched him often enough to safely say 9 times out of 10 he'd rather take a punt from 40 yards out than play a team mate in through on goal

There's truth to the teammates argument, but it also signifies how Everton in general like to punt people forward and champion individuality. They've been like that ever since Moyes left in my opinion.

Yeah same here. Lukaku was frustrated as hell playing with him even though he is also a thick asshole.

I reckon he can be a good squad player though.

He was like that for England too though. Hodgeson in particular had it in for him for this very reason while everyone else was lapping him his performances, rightly or wrongly. It might be down to bad habits he picked up at Everton. Probably if he had a good manager or club to nurture him from a young age he'd have made much more of his career.

I agree with that assessment. He was explosive when he was on his game though. I think if he was ever 100% fit again he'd be a good player for back up or to bring off the bench in our system as one of the 2 AMs.

I wouldn't even be that opposed to selling all of them without a replacement.

A front 3 made up of Ozil, Sanchez, Lacazette, Iwobi, Wilshere, Nelson and Nketiah has a good balance between quality, experience and potential for the next 6 months.

In the long term, it would free up circa 300k and 40m which can be put towards getting Ozil and Jack to sign a new deals and sign a Sanchez replacement.

Thats all well and good if everyone stays fit. I like Nketiah but I'm not sure I'd want to see him start against Spurs and City in February.

Nketiah should absolutely not be our main backup for Lacazette.

So move Sanchez further up and play Iwobi or Wilshere if the kid isn't up to the job.

Either way, people talk about wanting to give kids a chance but when it comes down to it they seem to want to have them as 7th choice with no chance of ever getting mins off the bench never mind start. Take a risk.
