I think that's a little unfair. Chelsea fans were chanting 'fuck Sarri ball' within months of his appointment. By comparison Emery hasn't really had much to deal with at all except with one clown with a banner against SU. In the Wenger years things were bad for a really long time on the pitch before the crap with the planes and the banners presented themselves, and both of those aspects just take a few bad apples.
In a stadium of 60,000 people you're always going to get dicks, that applies to every single club. I've heard from a couple of people at the stadium now and while Xhaka got ironic cheers initially, it was pretty muted and came from about 10% of the fans at most, the main anger directed towards him came after his reaction.
That seems fair enough from the clip actually. The jeers only came in after he threw the arm band. It got even louder after his reaction.
Sky Sports' Oli Yew at the Emirates...
'Nasty scenes at the Emirates as Xhaka's number goes up. He's going to be replaced by Saka. There are huge ironic cheers from the home fans to greet the decision.
'Xhaka then strolls off the pitch. He's in no hurry to get off and the Arsenal fans rise as one to urge him off. It's loud, very loud as they make their displeasure known towards the Arsenal captain, who cups his hands to his ears.
'He's still in no hurry as the jeers get louder and louder. He cups his hand to his ear one more time and appears to mouth a response to the jeers before taking his shirt off and heading straight down the tunnel.'
Him crawling slowly off the pitch when we are chasing the game don't help too
Anyway, our fanbase are retarded sometimes but our manager has it easy compared to many other big clubs. This reaction should be small fry and Xhaka can't even handle it. Imagine him at the Bernabéu
