I'm putting money down on City to win Champions League this season. I can't stand them, but the odds are still good and their football is on another level compared to perhaps any other team right now. The bastards still have players like Gündogan coming back too.

Things can change quickly in football, but it looks like the pundits who were laughing at Guardiola's attempts to rebuild last season will be eating humble pie.

If neymar can stop acting like a little girl, I'd say PSG. Barca dark horses. Any dogged team like the atletico madrid teams of Simeone should be able to stop guardiola again.
What's the big fucking deal, he has the luxury of spending another 200 million every half season. Add to that the security of having the luxury of spending 200 mill if things don't go well, which is a big factor too. Let the little bitch do his thing at a club like liverpool or arsenal, then we'll eat humble pie.

I don't think it's super impressive to be able to build a top squad when you spend that kind of money either. I was mostly talking about how the press ridiculed him at times. It was obvious that he'd turn it around given enough time.

Spurs are a top side. City are just sensational. KDB was running the show again. He makes football a joy to watch

According to Telegraph they are only the 2nd team to draw at Madrid since 2009 in Europe. Previously only Dortmund did it. It was a really open game, Pochettino played 2 strikers and went for it, both teams could have won it easily.

Surprised how bad Dortmund and Monaco is this year.

14 days later

El Shaarawy with a screamer for Roma:

What a caption, is he trying to disappoint people? 😆 Not that it isn't a great goal.

I know 😆 It was the only working video I could find on Twitter, but the guy really went overboard.

Why are At. Madrid shit now?

I don’t know, but I’m adding Eusebio di Francesco to my shortlist of Wenger replacements. Italy is a gold mine of managerial talent

di Francesco did an incredible job with Sassuolo too. I can easily see him manage a top Premier League side in a year or two if he doesn't sink at Roma.

😆 I love how three players are marking Dzeko of all people too. He's like a Giroud with one good knee. Per Mertesacker would have a decent shot in a sprint duel against him.

SStarted watching this game in the second half. Chelsea's passing seemed utterly off. Pitch effect ?or are they really not motivated ? commentators were going on about something not being right behind the scenes with conte and the club. To me  it seemed like they couldn't get used to that ground with uneven grass.
That above sequence of play was funny to watch. Should've been a goal.

That was a piece of amateur hour defending. My jaw actually dropped.

Picked it back up. I’m good now

That's even worse than the shit we serve up.

Seeing how shit Chelsea is this season just made me realise how we achieved that performance at Stamford Bridge. What an opportunity missed.

That reasoning points to us being their level and Roma would also spank us 3-zip.

They shouldn't have dumped Matic. He was as important to them as Kanté.

😆 at that clip.

Even my childhood coaches would've been yelling "You're like an old ladies' tea party!" at that sorry sight.

Nah, they were equally bad against Watford, Palace and in the previous game against Roma.

We've not exactly been blowing teams apart ourselves, hence why we're just below them in the table.

I fancy Chelsea to beat United though.

The biggest problem with missing Mata is that due to injury he's been forced to start Fabregas most games. He benched him last season and their system worked, with him in there they have gone to shit.

Rüdiger has looked a pretty terrible signing by Chelsea too.

Bakayoko still adapting. Always thought he was a bruiser which I didn't think is what Chelsea needed to replace Matic.

Didn't they also buy Drinkwater for 30M on deadline day (or close to it)?

Is Rüdiger simply poor or is he being played out of position?

I'd say the former; he was average in Serie A. Conte probably likes him for his physical abilities like Bakayoko.

Yeah which (bar the price) made perfect sense because he was brilliant with Kante at Leicester. He's been injured since then too though. Its very easy to say "should have kept Matic" but they have been fairly ravaged by injury in midfield.

which game gonna be better? city/nap or mad/spurs

Gundogan starts.

City have so much talent - if they fail to win the league, Guardiola should never be allowed to manage again.

Napoli lead. Brilliant goal,

Vertongen off, looks like a hammy. Hopefully miss the game against us.

spurs ahead, deservedly. Madrid look disinterested... or complacent.

Real look flabby and discombobulated. Spurs could pick them off

Alderweireld no?

Spurs goal. Shouldn't count.

city level. Napoli were better for most of the half but City were able to go up the gears as well.

Good game.

Edit: And now City hit the bar!

Jones, who are you rooting against in the Spurs-Real game?

Real have looked really shabby last few weeks. Spurs doing a good job of crowing them today and stopping them from playing

City lead. Stones scores.
