Roma manager should have a long hard look at himself after that. I think he handicapped then pretty severely.

Salah is a proper world class player. That's what one looks like. Not like some of the players that get bestowed with that title.

He's the perfect European night manager. His Dortmund team used to play teams off the park like this in spells too. There's a reason why Liverpool never lose a home semi final for decades, their support is ridiculous. It really intimidates visiting team.

I don't think this Liverpool team is that average though, very underrated here. Their front 3, Can, their fullbacks, VVD will easily start for us. Even Karius level is currently better than our keepers.

Messi has a similar amount of goals and assists and leads La Liga in literally every attacking metric there is. Domestic double plus possibly an undefeated league season - Salahs season as insane as it is still comes up short

I think anyone who pretends they aren't surprised by Salah this season is lying. I was convinced he would score a lot of goals for Liverpool though. He's had one of the most consistent developments in football over the last few seasons. You never know when or if players take off and become truly world class, but a Salah coming into Premier League and just doing what he did for Roma last year would still have been a fairly strong contender for Player of the season.

Yeah, but Messi is the best player of his generation plying his trade at a modern superclub full of world class players, and they've all been geared towards getting the most out of him. Salah is playing with bloody Jordan Henderson.

Yeah, I largely agree. Arsenal fans spent years sucking off Alexis Sanchez and yet every single one of Liverpool's front 3 is better than Alexis ever was. I don't really understand giving a fuck about Can, though.

Liverpool had Coutinho few months ago and Çan(their best midfielder) has been out injured for some time now 😆

Roma played well against a Barcelona with a terrible game plan, but today Roma played right into Liverpool's hands. It's like they watched City's high line and thought they should give it a shot themselves.

I didn't think they'd let in 5 goals for one thing.

I just think they're a better team than Liverpool man for man, and in contrast to Liverpool they usually manage to adapt to how the opposition is playing. Football is unpredictable though. Sometimes form peaks can be built in a matter of weeks. Sometimes you just have a superman in your team who makes all the other players believe that they are invincible too.

There's still the second leg, so we'll see what happens now that they managed to grab a few vital away goals.
