Seriously? You lads aren't interested in watchning great football played at the very highest level?

No Tim I'm an Arsenal supporter.

Anybody watching the games tonight? I really couldn´t care less. Not watching any more this season seems like a pretty good option.

Kept an eye on the Man U game, Marseille had plenty chances that they could not take.
Hernandez was lethal with the few that they had.

O'Shea and Rafael went off with hamstring injuries, Valencia looked to be limping, Giggs and Scholes had to play the full ninety minutes.

Bolton at the weekend could be tough for them.

I didn't watch tonights game and I'm not particularly interested in watching the remainder of the champions league, bar spurs exit

Marseille could easily have knocked Man U out. Missed a sitter of a header in the second half.

I really like the look of Hernandez. His movement is brilliant. Looks like he's probably forced himself in to the first team. I reckon he'll be another Nistelrooy for them.

Fantastic goal by Pandev in the Bayern Inter game too.

Well, another reason not to bother with the CL for the rest of this season if you're that way inclined; shitty, boring Inter through, attractive, exciting Bayern out.

I cant believe Inter qualified tonight. They were easily 2nd best.

Revenge for Fiorentina. 😃

Honestly though, I'm in agreement, how Bayern didn't go into half time at least 3-1 up is beyond me. Inter will probably get knocked out in the next round unless they learn how to defend again. Mourinho's departure had a big part to play but Samuel's absence due to injury has had a massive, massive impact on Inter's failures this season imo.

Me too Luka, he's just what we need, but Wenger would probably play him out on the wing "to make him a more complete player".

Wenger would most likely use him the way he used Eduardo in our 4-3-3. Either centrally as a "lone" striker or not at all. Either way we wouldn't get the best out of him.

Just watched the Bayern-Inter game.
Bayern were mesmerizing. I wish we had that front 3 of Ribery, Gomez, Muller and Robben. So dynamic, fluid and dangerous. They should've wrapped up the game in the first half.

Unfortunately for them, Eto'o played out of his skin. He is a remarkable player. As good as David Villa and Ibrahimovic are, they are downgrades from this man. Really makes me miss Henry to see such a deadly forward in action. Feck.

Totally agree, we need a greedy little Ian Wright like bastard who only wants to put the ball in the net.

It's the mirror image of the argument about Vela in the other thread. Anyway.

Rooney played in the midfield and then the left wing against us on saturday with Little Pea playing as a lone striker for the whole game.

If he were from one of the competing nations, he would rate as one of the best strikers of all time. He warrants it on pure ability and achievement but your profile can't be that high without 'achieving' at international level.

True, but as far as I've seen that's not how Ferguson typically uses Hernandez, it's a consequence of the injuries to their wide players. I think Vela would do better centrally in terms of goals scored, as a lone striker or a second striker, although Hernandez shows a lot more in terms of well-timed runs behind the defence than I have seen from Vela.

It's how he uses Rooney though; his first choice, £30m, £200k per week striker who scored 30 odd goals last year.

True. And that has to do with Rooney's work ethic as a pro as well, which is pretty damn good, despite all his off-field issues.

Thought Rooney's jubilation the other day at Valencia's impending return to their squad was quite pointed. I'm sure he would like to be more central and be getting on the end of a goal a game as he was last season.

If it were Wenger he would have Rooney playing central as a lone striker, and be "teaching Chicharito his trade" out on the wing trying to slot passes and crosses in to Wayne.

Unfortunately, Shreck looks pretty much back to his best now.
