Saw an article that suggests they may be prepared to cover the position with a number of internal options, although another article suggests they have agreed a deal in principle with LFC for Coutinho. I'd have thought they'd reach out to both Sanchez and Ozil as free agents next summer, as they'd certainly go some ways to restoring their bruised ego.
If they sign Coutinho & Dembelele then I don't think they will go for Seri unless they offload some players. They have already talked about wanting to use some of the Neymar money for refurbishment work at their stadium.
Bein reporting Barca will drop their interest in Seri as they are signing Paulinho. Xavi recently speaking very highly of him recently, his classic Barca DNA bullshit thrown in as well

Can't believe Guangzhou got 40m out of Barca for Paulinho. I know he is their first choice and has been chasing him for 2 summers now but 40m for him seriously?
He's also bang average. Some Barca fans speculating earlier this summer if the Barca president is getting some back hander for this transfer 😆 Those guys running Barca seem hell bent on burning that place down to the ground before they go, completely fucked up their youth academy and their first team squad is full over priced average players.

Money laundering, mate.
Same as Neymar.
A few journalists mention we are still keeping tabs on him but need to offload some players before making a move. I reckon Wilshere is the player we are probably trying to offload before we make a move.
Also talk today Liverpool are interested in him as well.
Seems a good Coutinho replacement.
Would imagine they'll move quickly on that if they think he's off, where as we'll drag on trying to offload players and in turn not free up space/cash for anyone.

Sounds about right.
I don't think Seri is even slightly like Coutinho from what I've seen of him. Very different players.

I should have highlighted the second sentence = that LFC are unlikely to hesitate if they have identified him as a preferred option. Agreed that Seri is a different style of player but IMO he'd be a better option if LFC were looking at playing Coutinho from midfield in a 433.
Agreed that he's not a same for same replacement, but rather he would be a good replacement based on quality and ability to play as an AM in a 4-3-3. They'll lose Coutinho's abilitity to thunder cunt one in but gain possession and a better overall midfield.

He's over rated in that regard IMO and puts more attempts into orbit than he gets on target, let alone scores.
I wouldn't be surprised if Wenger settles on Xhaka, Ramsay, Elneny and le Coq as our four centre mids this season. With Santi coming back.
I say this because that's where I see Seri fitting in, rather than in one of the advanced roles.
Yeah, Seri is a centre midfielder. He doesn't have the game to play as an attacking midfielder. He's modelled his game on Xavi and he plays a lot like him.
That is such a depressing bunch.

Definitely not good enough.
Not to win the League, no. And our defence isn't good enough either.
But I still think Wenger will settle for what he has in both departments.
The animosity will be three-fold to what it was last season.
