PSG's front 6 today looks crazy (against Metz)
---Motta--Rabiot---
-Draxler-Mbappe-Neymar
------Cavani------
Insane, only Verratti missing.
Thought Cavani would have played deeper.
The game wasn't as entertaining as I'd hoped vs the amount of talent on display.
Cavani is really wasteful.
Cavani has been wasteful since leaving Napoli. Only tolerated because he plays on a team that creates bags of chances.
PSG are not a team yet so played with no rhythm.
With no Verratti, there was no build-up and all they did is pass the ball to Neymar in deep midfield and hope he opened up the defence.

I feel that his off the ball movement is world class and that's what helped PSG create those chances. I do agree about his finishing; it's been the downfall for PSG in the UCL. His misses are costly like Higuain's.
Yeah Cavani's profligacy is balanced by the fact that his movement is arguably top 5 in world football
Problem with that is that although he scores bags of goals against the majority of teams, chances are and have been a premium at the highest level which is where they will be judged.
I think Cavani has been equal parts shit and unlucky with his finishing when it comes to Champions League. I also think PSG mostly have themselves to blame for it, for playing him on the wing for so long. They made him blunt.
If someone like Wenger had gotten hold of Cavani three or four years ago and played him up front he could have turned him into a player without weaknesses; one of the best strikers of the last 20 years.
Would be funny if Mbappe elevates himself into a position to be the main man in the team after Neymar left Barca because he wasn't the main man. I can quite easily see that happening by the end of the season where the team starts to play for Mbappe and Neymar is back at square one.
Nah. Don't see it. Neymar is always going to be a crucial piece of any attacking jigsaw. He is too good to ignore/bypass often - was able to hold his own even when he was playing with Messi and Suarez.
Mbappe isn't that sort of player anyway. I think it's far more likely that Mbappe will be marginalised more than he would want.
What a dickhead Alves is. Can see that PSG squad becoming a real mess without a strong manager in charge to pull it all together.

I'd agree, he has a tremendous ability to get open based on his pace, physicality and intelligence...very balanced in that regard, a complete striker. But if you're not finishing them no one will be impressed. I'm actually playing with a player like that right now and he's driving our team mad, yet he's on the end of more chances than any of other players.
The drama intensifies!
can't blame them in a way, I don't remember CR7 having to struggle to take free kicks and penalties when he signed for RM.
i mentioned him in the wishlist before, but Malcom is having a great season in Ligue 1 so far: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/sep/18/neymar-brazil-ligue-1-malcom-bordeaux-psg?CMP=share_btn_tw
Yeah Malcom is the next big talent. Been really impressive this season.
Stupid of Cavani to not recognize that there's a new Sheriff in town.
It's not a power struggle he should be involved in - there can only be one winner here.
