Italy would not regroup to be fair. They got knocked out early last two tournaments. Warning signs had been there. They should be beating Sweden over two legs, but they were only ever going to make up the numbers in Russia
They wouldn't have regrouped under Ventura that's for sure. With a decent manager I wouldn't have been surprised had they won the whole thing
