Thomas Lemar
The Gunners have increased their offer for Monaco winger Thomas Lemar, 21, to £40m after having a £35m bid rejected. (L'Equipe)
get this shit done.
What he said
Love the fact that Wenger is pushing for this transfer. He'd be an incredible signing.
I really hope we get this done. I'm quite excited by the prospect of having Lemar and Lacazette to add to our attack.
On Twitter there is talk Monaco want €60m for him, which is around £53m so we aren't far off with our bids. There is tak of us putting in a third bid in the next few days. Hope we can wrap this one next week
£45m with £5m in add-ons. done deal.
then sell a bunch of our squad filler, bring the wage bill down, then give ozil and alexis new deals. good summer.
Seems like this is gonna happen, which is excellent. Wonder where Wenger is thinking of playing him, or if he really is a Sanchez replacement, which would kind of suck.
Where is all this optimism coming from? Has there been some news that's come out?

For non-Brits, the sun is full of shit and the star is worse. Much worse.
Reports of a 2nd and even 3rd bid suggest there's at least a strong push from us, or of course it could all be lies, and probably is.
Reminds me of Beckham in terms of playing style

we've made 2 bids. it seems unlikely we'll just give up unless they are resolute in expecting £60m+
Are those even confirmed bids?
Don't worry about that.
Big Willie wrote:Are those even confirmed bids?
yes, i have confirmed them.
Big Willie wrote:Are those even confirmed bids?
ornstein confirmed that we're interested, back when we were on the verge of signing lacazette
RMC also confirmed at least 1 of the bids, and they're generally not bullshitters
Think we will get this guy unless another team comes in late although it doesn't seem like any of the big clubs are looking for a player with his profile at the moment. Maybe Bayern who look like letting Costa leave for Juve. Don't see any of the English clubs going for him or Spain's big two/PSG. So we should be in a decent position to land him if we stump up the cash. I think we will get this done before the Charity Shield but not before the end of the Sydney-Shanghai-Beijing tour. Just a guess.
I'll be honest only really watched him in the CL games against City/Juve/Dortmund so don't know too much about him. He looks silky as can be technically which is always good to have in the squad. Mate of mine reckons he can play CM for us which will be interesting. I always thought he was a more conventional left sided player and could have been used as a WB but based on what I've heard he'd better suited centrally as a CAM but never considered the possibility of him operating as a CM. He has the energy and technique for it so might be interesting. The player Chambo could have been for us.
he's versatile, technnical and has a good work rate. looks like the type of player our other attackers would enjoy linking up with
