He will play where he played last season. For Monaco

He'd likely swap sides in game with Sanchez in a fluid 3 if we reverted to a 4231, and his ability to hold the ball would also work in a wide WB/WM role in a 3421.
What kind of player is he? Didn't watch any of Monaco's games last season (only ever seen highlights) so never seen the guy play properly.

He was Monaco's best player last season before Mbappe got more gametime in the 2nd half of the season.
He's a hybrid between a winger and a number 10, very good dribbler that has a fantastic final ball. Somewhat similar to Iwobi's game, with more intelligence and end product.
We need a CM and CF, so I don't really get this signing. It seems to me Wenger just likes the player and will buy him and then try and fit him in somewhere, rather than the team actually needing that position filled. Unless Ozil or Sanchez are off.

That line of thinking is exactly what made us fall backwards for the past decade. We need to be proactive rather than reactive, don't simply replace, but continue to upgrade and snatch talents whenever they are available.
Surely it makes sense if you feel that an attack consisting of
Sanchez Lemar - Özil
is better than
Lacazette/potential striker Sanchez - Özil
If we feel Lemar is a potentially top end talent available for 30m then of course we should sign him. Whether they leave or not Ozil and Sanchez will be approaching 30 next season so we need to start future planning regardless. Lemar and Iwobi set us up quite nicely.
Even if we kept Ozil and Sanchez (unlikely) I think Lemar would quickly start pushing for a starting role anyway. The squad needs more competition, too many players are too comfortable with their first team status.

If we assume we are sticking to our current 3-4-3 system sounds more like a wide player replacement. Sounds like what we need for that position, important he is a good dribbler because imo we don't have enough of those in our team.
Widespread reports of us placing a £31m bid and it being turned down. Apparently he's not for sale.
Nobody is ever for sale when you make the wrong offer.
going to have to up our bid and hope he asks to leave
im startng to feel like monaco will sell 1-2 more players at maximum, then will block any more sales. mbappe, lemar, bakayoko, mendy, and fabino - first in best dressed
You have to move fast, if Monaco make money from Bernando Bakayoko and Fabinho, they'll be in a stronger position and won't need to sell. Clocks against you.
They'll sell them all if the right offer is made.
The Ornstein has spoken. Curiously quiet on Mbappe.
Surely it means Lemar and Lacazette are top two targets?

Could be a 2 of 3 scenario.
