If Alexis leaves the only thing we need is Wenger's head on a platter

pretty much, unless we are signing a world class attacking player
ron howard voice we're not
This is such a meh signing even if we somehow miraculously retain Sanchez. If this level of signing is Wenger's idea of a big push in his final two years we're screwed.
to the tune of mask off by future - "lacazette, alex lacazette, chase a cech, never chase a blank"
that's all i've got
We've got Alex
Laaaah caaaah Alex
I just don't think you understand.
He speaks excellent French
His name can be shortened smaller than Alexis
We've got Alexandre Lacazette
bars
Have a sinking feeling it'll be Lacazette in, Alexis out, nothing else up front which would be a bad result.
Agree with the sense that to me this is a pretty underwhelming signing. If we retain Alexis and are still making moves for other attacking players of a high calibre then it's a good squad building step. But if Alexis goes and this is his replacement it is an awful transfer but would be classic Wenger Arsenal.
we are all haunted by Giroud for van Persie
The problem with this signing is its too late. Sign him last season and we wouldn't have fallen out of the CL. Sign him the season before and we'd have won the league.
Looks like exactly the form factor of what will happen. It's clear that Sanchez wants to leave and it's unlikely the club has the cojones to block his exit. But I won't bitterly assume it.

That's exactly what it feels like. That summer seemed decent at first (Giroud, Podolski, Cazorla) but then RVP was sold. Reckon it'll be the same thing this year with Sanchez leaving.

a day late and a buck short: the arsene wenger story
I've only seen Lacazette play a few times, but I haven't been impressed so far. He doesn't seem that quick, and his link up play and close control seems fairly average. Decent finisher though. He kind of reminds me of Walcott, after all of the injuries.

I can not believe how conservative we have become on and off the pitch since the move / departure of DD. At times it would appear we are paralyzed by indecision.
Can't be optimistic about this, particularly if Sanchez leaves.
Falling out of the CL places is not the end of the world, signing medicority however would reinforce this trend

Sanchez is gone either this summer or next I think if he's hell bent on leaving we may as well just get rid of him now rather than have the saga drag on. We're not winning the prem or cl this season anyway.
I optimistic about this signing I think giroud and Sanchez will be gone in a year so we'll need two new strikers. He's not the perfect striker but if he was he wouldn't be coming here.

What do we lose from keeping him, 50m or so. We wasted that much on Perez and Mustafi last season.
