Holy shit what a rocket by Daniels. incredible goal

Pep is a shit manager. City have such a strong squad and he has them playing far below the level they should be at.

That's terrible from Ake.

That's a 5 minute spell that defines a game. From Defoes shot to that goal.

Jesus is deadly. Can't see Aguero playing much

just like last season really. these boys have an embarrassment of riches, even without Gundogan. i'm not yet impressed with the man.

City dominated Everton with one man sent off and have been pretty good so far today. Didn't watch the first two matches though.

I find it hard to believe that a manager couldn't fit both of them in though.

They don't fit each other that well, watched the first 2 games where they played as a pair with Aguero slightly behind him and they don't look very fluid.

With Bernardo Silva, David Silva, Sane, Sterling, Debryune vying for 2-3 spots behind the striker it's tough to justify playing Aguero as a number 10.

Guardiola is a big believer in the Ajax/Barcelona school of football (which is based on 1 striker system)

Exactly - having too many number 10s in the team for the sake of 'fluidity' is not something I'm comfortable with (I blame Wenger). Jesus is amazing but aside from him and maybe De Bryune I don't really see enough goal threat from the rest of the team. Of course Aguero will still probably get around 15-20 goals off the bench like last year so it won't be too bad but I feel this formation could work against them in bigger games.

Guardiola's own Barcelona team had multiple strikers/goal scorers in the front three. They may not have been out and out number 9s but they weren't faux number 10s like over here.

Think that's why he's trying to sign Sanchez. With him in the team , they could easily play one of their creative midfielders out wide like he used to do with Iniesta at Barca.

If Jesus gets 25-30 goals then it shouldn't be a problem. De Bruyne is normally really prolific in both goals and assists for a midfield, and Sterling/Sane both chipped in 9-10 goals last season.

I think defence is still their biggest problem.

Their midfield isn't great either. But yeah once Kompany suffers his usual injury that defence is the worst in the top 6.

Even Kompany is looking dodgy when he plays these days.

Aguero is such a massive cheat these days.

And now Aguero comes on. Sterile possession never works...
