The kid is full of poise and guile but he also has the same burst of pace and ability to beat people. I'd say the only thing he's really missing is the ability impose himself on the game in the same manner and that he does fade a little, but given that he just turned 18 this season it's fair enough.

He averages more than a goal per 90 mins and has 8 assists to his name too fwiw.

Watch the boy's footwork. He's got some serious flair and a unique, and imo very graceful, almost more contemporary style. He's not a pace merchant at all, although he has plenty of speed. He's also so decisive, especially for such a young player, but I genuinely don't even think he has to be qualified that way.

He's ready to be a starter at Arsenal for me. We have Olly to come on when he fades.

he has the same level of polish that henry had around 2000-2001 imo, perhaps less individual flair and more efficient. that should be worth something

Btw, the Alexis to Bayern rumours seem to have stopped entirely. Don't know what to make of that. Is it a done deal and so people have moved on or have we truly got him interested with a large offer and he could potentially stay. Can't read this one.

I was only joking there. I thinl we have a decent chance of getting him but I still think it's much more likely he'll goe to Madrid or stay at Monaco.

I don't give any credence to La Parisien's story either. He's already said he's not going to even think about it, let alone discuss and then make a decision, until he has played his last match of the season- which is against England next Tuesday. It's just them guessing like every one else.

Or someone at Monaco bluffing? I don't know. What I do know is that when we tried to sign Martial off Monaco they said they're not selling. When United tried to sign Martial from Monaco they signed him. Go the extra mile.

Bad news. The good part of this is that if Mbappe doesn't move and Auba is going to PSG, Real don't sell Morata to Yanited.

Am wondering if we should try and get Cavani if Auba is going to PSG. Or is he too old at 30 already for such a physical player? If Auba is going there, he is surely getting some assurance of being first choice - I doubt he is going there to play wide or sit on the bench. Can't see many other options - maybe force Alexis up front and get a young 'un like Werner or Berardi or Embolo as back-up? With Inter Milan's new ownership, doubt Icardi will be for sale either.

I'm not worried about that. Wenger wants him bad I reckon.

If Jardim really is going you'd have to think it's at least partly because they're selling every good player they have. He said just a couple of days ago he said he was definitely staying and that was after having already being offered huge sums to go to China.

Leonardo Jardim confirmed he “received an offer from Inter,” but preferred to stay with Monaco, while Luciano Spalletti will be appointed tomorrow.

The Nerazzurri needed a new Coach after going through Roberto Mancini, Frank de Boer, Stefano Pioli and caretaker manager Stefano Vecchi this season.

Former Roma boss Spalletti will sign the two-year contract with option for a third on Monday, earning approximately €4m per season.

However, he was not the first choice, as confirmed by Jardim.

“Clubs in China were prepared to cover me in gold and I also received an offer from Inter,” he told Telefoot.

“I think the project at Monaco is not yet finished. I will soon renew my contract, it will be made official soon.”

Either something has changed and he's decided Monaco isn't for him anymore or he's put these stories out there to get more money from Monaco. We'll see soon.

Impressive statement of ambition from Monaco, who sold off half of their starting eleven in the first week of the transfer window. 😆

Mpabbe staying has absolutely nothing to do with them and everything to do with him taking another year to develop before he goes to a top club.

If he stays I think that would be an indicator of him wanting to go to Madrid in the long term, i.e. next season. He's not in a position where he needs another season at Monaco before he comes here, but you could argue it is the case for Madrid. Feels like it's either now or never for us.

I think last year was our now or never moment to be honest. You don't sign talents like Mbappe unless you locate them before they break through. Once they do there are only two destinations.

Agreed. I think it'd be a mistake to stay come what may, next season is not going to be a good one for Monaco - the only way is down after this season and this summer. I'm sure Mbappé will score goals and do well individually no matter what, but now would be a good time for him to try and move up another level.

Cavani just had his best season at PSG, no way they're going to bench him for Aubameyang. If anything Aubameyang will play on the wing in season one like Cavani did, and then can try to unseat Cavani the following season.

True, but they've always had a lot of money. The only thing that has changed is that they now regularly pay £60 million for players that cost them £30 million 8 years ago. Transfer fees have become inflated but City and Chelsea and United still stay ahead of the market.
